Quoted from the latest patchlog
Quote: Changed NPC->PCCorp standings average rather than dynamically updated. The client knows most appropriate standings to prevent excessive DB traffic. Adding aggression status propagation. Testing: This is a tough one... Everything that uses standings must be tested as this is pretty much a standings rewrite. A separate testing task will be created via DT because of the extensive nature of this change.
notice the bit in bold. will this effect agent standings ? are they considered "NPC-PCCorp" ?
if we chould get a heads up befor all our 9.9x agent standings get nerfed it would be nice.

I don't understand what means "changing standing average rather than dynamically updated.".
I guess it is just a display change like it is already done with skills and the only thing that we have to worry about is that it will probably have some display errors like it happens with skills.
Maybe an agent will say no here and there instead of yes then we will need to relog to fix that, this sort of things.

Well, I can see it as two distinct things.
Either a rewriting of the code with the aim of moving a large part of the transactions from the servers to the client.
Or, A more general rewriting of the way standings work. I take it this is the way you see it. I have NO knowlegde of which it will be, a or b.
Maybe this might give a glimmer of an insight into why ppl do not care.

until now, every mission you did, also had an effect on the standings from the corp (if important mission also faction) for which you worked towards your corp. This means that it did not have anything to do with the standings of the players in the corp but also with ex-members, etc. I think the change mentioned will mean that this standing will now be calculated by the actual standings of the members (as an average).
Example: Now: A corp has 2 members, one works for caldari a lot and totally ruins the gallente standings, then quits, corp still has bad standings with gallente.
After the change: same as before, but after the players leaves (assuming the remaining player has no standings), the corp won't have any bad (/good) standings any more.
That's how I think that the change is meant.

very true. sad thing when people cannot be bothered to ask anymore. only a small step to losing all care for the game.
