Tai Paktu Beyond Divinity Inc	Posted - 2008.07.23 01:38:00 - [1] Alright, so everyone knows that nanos are gamebreaking right? 12km/s+ inties and 6km 500+ DPS HACs are killing EvE and if the devs don't fix it, not only will FW die but all of EvE will cancel their subs because it's lame watching your BS die to a bunch of stupid nanoships. So, my solution is simple... Speeding tickets. It's like sec status, in empire space CONCORD has speed traps and will arrest you if you break a hardcap speed limit, they'll web your ship and fine you ISK depending on how fast you were going. In low sec, the pick you up on camera drones or from billboard cameras and send you a fine via EvE-mail. I don't give a toss what happens in 0.0 so they can nano all they like there. It'll be like the Autobahn. What do you guys thing? Is this a good fix or what?

Without snakes, nothing (and I think only the vagabond can reasonably hope to break 6k without snakes). With snakes - I doubt the sacrilege can break 500 dps while going that speed; the Ishtar can, but only if you gasp fit guns to it. The Zealot might actually break 500 dps but the range will suffer. Scorch delivers somewhere between 400-470 at max depending on skills, fit, and implants, which means you're using AN MF or AN Gamma, which means you're either 14km away, or have fit range mods in addition to 3x heatsink, which pretty much guarantees you're going slower than 6k. Hint - it is possible to get 21km MF range on a zealot, but it requires HAC V, 2x range rigs, and 3x tracking enhancers, which means you're nowhere near 6k/s - hell, you're lucky to break 2k, or 3k with snakes. I understand that this is a joke post (didn't whoosh over my head ) but does anybody actually believe that there are ships that can both go over 6k/s with a reasonable fit and deal over 500 dps? Hell, 500 dps is near the upper limit for a lot of HACs - Ishtar, Zealot, Vaga (with lolhail), Sacrilege may all have a hard time breaking that amount of DPS (depending on skills), before worrying about nanofitting. Addendum 2: For trivia, Zealot has a practical damage cap at 642 DPS. This is with 3x HS II, 5x HPL II, Conflag, max skills, 5% RoF implant, and 5% medium turret damage implant. __________________________________ Originally by: Arthur Frayn How much to ruin all your holes, luv?

Currently webbers aren't webbers at all, they're engine dampers and what we need most is one webber with a kinetic energy damper script (to stop them gliding out of web range) and another with an engine damper script (to keep them there).
