It's extra shielding/armor, higher top speed (196 m/s!), extra low slot and superior tracking makes it quite a different beast, opening up a lot of different tactical options. One of those options is nanoing it (a quite powerful option), but there are several other viable alternatives. ______________________________________________ -You can never earn my respect, only lose it. Its faster and come close range faster ( blastertrons, in any version its slower to come in their "optimal"). Ist not cap dephendant so you can just use neutralizer on the spare hi slots if you realy will not put launchers. if both end without cap, you fire, the hopponent no. Last but not least: vindicator require the same skills, if you prefer the vindicator buy one. All you need is large hybrid skill( and dont tell me that is a long train), since the other skills are the same as the vindi.

If you use your brain WHILE your fighting a Vindicator or a Navy Mega when your in a Machariel, then they wont touch you much tbh. I have won so many times over both a Vindicator and a Navy Mega in my Machariel there, on sisi though. It's all about being smart and not do any mistakes. OFC, new players in a Machariel might fail ALOT in that ship, because it's not a ship for new players. To have a Machariel that really works good, you need to be an experienced with the Machariel. So using a Tempest with AutoCannons is ofc a start before you go to a Machariel.

To have a Machariel that works, you need to be very experienced in fighting and also be very experienced in using a Tempest / Machariel. If your experienced, it doesn't matter, a Machariel pilot will give terror to the other faction ships. But do one mistake and you will get killed easy though. Vindi does more damage than a Machariel you say?, so what?, it doesn't help to have 10 times more damage than a Machariel when you can't hit the Machariel. Or if your hitting the Machariel you will only do damages like Cruisers. You know what i mean with this if your smart. And this is also when you fight all other ships to.

Only you seems o not see them. But this is not a problem. Vindi require exacpty the same skills as the Mach, so use a vindi if you think its better. Training the hybrid turret is realy not an issue ...

A while back CCP issued a report tracking which ships were actually in use. Among factions ship the Machariel was second place (after CNR)
