Greyscale has written an overview of the four main Empires and their political positions the day after they went to war - June 11th, for those who don't remember when we released Empyrean Age. It also contains a brief overview of the smaller factions.
This guide is an out of character document designed to give you an understanding of the political situation, to help you define your characters' personal and political stance in relation to various groups within the Empires. This document offers a solid foundation to build your characters stories and will help both new and experienced players.

And when are we allowed to fly capitals to get rid of that Titan hovering over LUMINAIRE VII? If the Gallente Navy isn't willing to act, I'm very sure that there are quite a few pilots out there just itching to make those filthy capitalists pay. And if they play dirty, then I suggest we'll turn New Caldari to a pile of cinders for the atrocities those heinous Caldari committed that day.

Well yes, but that's typical of the plebs in the streets everywhere eh?
On the other hand, at least they ask questions, something that can't be said for the mindless Caldari drones that either had their personal opinion indoctrinated away, or are too afraid to voice it under your oppressive sytem, especially with that tyrannical potentate Heth in charge. ---

Originally by: Ankhesentapemkah Oh and one more thing. Why are the Amarr and Caldari or Gallente and Minmatar still fighting side-by-side? Dualism is such a bad thing, and I'm sure that the Amarr would not support the Caldari in their unprovoked attack after they have been the victim of such an act at the hands of the Minmatar themselves.
The minmatar attack on the Empire was a terribly unprovoked atrocity the likes of which the universe has never seen.
Where as the Caldari invasion was a just reclamation of Caldari territory from the evil, manipulative, corrupt, Gallente.
So of course we'd support the principled, noble heathens in their struggles.
[I havn't read the PDF yet so i may well have to eat these words when im done, but it would be nice to see more stirrings in the Kingdom, maybe by now Lord Khanid is just so senile he doesn't know whats going on, but the minmatar incursion was the severest blow and threat the Empire faced... ever, how long can he be expected to sit on the sidelines.]

Edited by: Eventy One on 24/07/2008 23:35:00 I think this oversight is a valid one and somehow got missed in driving the story forward.
It appears the elevation of Lady Sarum should give rise to grievance for Khanid since he basically got chased out of the Amarr Empire for surviving succession, as did Lady Sarum. However she clearly isn't being treated the same as Khanid which should be dealt with methinks rather than ignored. This inconsistent behaviour probably should get at least some attention since Khanid is still living.
Also the pdf covers even the minor factions but misses Sisters of Eve and Jove.

Maybe you have the same problem I do. Any attempt to connect to Limelight Networks fails, EVE patches included. I just use one of the free anonymous proxies to fetch it for me.

Though it seems like you missed SOE which is a shame considering their implications in the rediscovery of the Starkmanir tribe and SOE being a charity organization in times of war.
Oh, maybe you missed Jove too...
EDIT: Btw. are we going to see any changes in standings between factions? I am in particular thinking Minmatar Republic and Thukker Tribe, and perhaps Gallente Federation and Syndicate need a tuning too? ---------------- Mr. Science & Trade Institute |

I see the .pdf as very helpful.
It makes sense King Khanid isn't going to move yet. Right now his people have had a close call with the Minmatar so it's likely many are sympathetic to any strong leader who'll take the fight to them - that sounds like Sarum to me. The Unionists are probably over the moon and volunteering en masse for the Amarr militia. Same story with the Zealot faction (possibly - on the other hand they might see Jamyl's ressurection and rise as a heresy of some kind, which would beg the eternal question why they supported the King or he, them, in the first place).
On the other hand, the Cyberknights are far more interlinked with the Caldari for tech and support. They strike me as ardent nationalists who'd probably see the rise of Sarum as a potential threat to Khanid's continued independant status. They like a good fight, to be sure, but I'd say it's likely they'd see Heth as a Caldari version of their own King Khanid. A charismatic and capable leader who isn't a threat to Khanid sovereignty.
So The King's wait and see strategy makes perfect sense. He probably wants to better suss out the situation before making any overt plays. Covertly? I'll bet the Old Man is plenty busy right now. There are alot of strings out there getting pulled and our cagey old Royal is probably tugging a good many of them. You don't live that long by being stupid.
