Some of those bacterias or more like somekind of rock fungi happen to survive quite well inside falling meteors from outer space. Just add water erosion to the whole process and you're on! So all in all, life on earth could well be coming from alien bacterial origins. Here's an introduction.

Actually colonization isnt far off, and I believe as soon as overpopulation and meterial problems come into play we will be more then happy to colonize different planets and use asteriods to mine off of.

The manner of consciousness in which we'd be heading out there to save ourselves from death is in dispute however.
