Or GOA.. As the saying goes you dont miss the water til your wells run dry... I feel CCP do a very very fine job with EVE and through my vast online games experience I can safely say I yet not played a more robust, and stable online game, which has good community support. This is a blessing trust me. Roll on CCP. K. "Women!! Cant live with them................." |

Unreal isn't badly handled.
Then go play your Unreal.... Eve is nothing like Unreal, I agree with the above post. CCP is doing a fine job. If you can program, I would like to see you run Eve better...

You might want to check your info. TF2 has been in development since like '99, at least. Its beyond vaporware at this point. And other games in the history of bad dev schedules: Daikatana, Duke Nukem whatever-that-title-was, HALF-LIFE 2 (*ahem*), etc.... anyone else have good examples?
One last point: when a game is in development, snags come up. Technology doesn't work as expected, bugs sneak in, and any number of other things can go wrong. CCP is not unlike any other developer. Sometimes, it just takes longer than expected. It would be helpful if whenever you see the term "release date" you treat it as "projected release date" or "likely release date." Its not concrete. Heck, valve is coming up on a year late on HL2, and because it looks like its going to be brilliant, ppl are willing to wait.

Actually this was my fault I quoted the wrong part of the message. Still I might have gotten the benefit of the doubt being one of EVE's biggest fanboys __________ Capacitor research |

I am still waiting on all the broken promises made for Tech 2 Castor patch. Its now almost a HALF OF A YEAR LATER AND STILL NO TECH 2 SHIPS. GUNS OR WHATNOT and elite frigs dont count!!
Most game devs are just one in the same. If Sony and EA can p1ss on its customers, so can everyone else. My personal favorite jackarse developer is Wolfpack. Now those boys know how to lie and give you boobies at the same time keeping you interested in their vaporware alpha client game, Shadowboob, for 3 years straight. Then they punch you in the face when they finally released it with a buggy piece of garage client. WP will always have a special place in my heart.
CCP, on the otherhand, do a fairly competant job but they could use allot of improvement with their communication skills; ie They should not make promises they do not intend to keep or can keep.

Actually I feel that the communication has improved a lot lately (after Kieron came actually), devs popping up on the forum and lot's of new dev blogs. I think the biggest mistake they do is constantly giving us a timeframe. I have no doubt that when they say that something is going to be released at a certain time they truly believe that it will be ready by that time, then Murphy's law kick in and it's all downhill from there __________ Capacitor research |
