I know that the eve-o forums will be flooded with whines over the next couple months, but this needed to be done.
Further, I'm honestly quite impressed with CCP. The amount of thought and planning that clearly went into this is something that I really like to see from devs. They have a great set of design goals for how they WANT things to be, and it makes sense. If you have a beef with the changes, argue that the model is wrong. I think it's spot on though, maybe a couple minor tweaks needed for relative speeds for some of the specialist ships.
They clearly put a lot of thought and calculation into how they want to reach these goals, evidenced by the graphs and statistics.
Most importantly, they publicized it all, to SHOW that they've done a good job addressing the situation (unfortunately I'm sure a lot of the whiners on eve-o forums will completely miss that part). They didn't just cave to whiners and make changes without much forethought, like some MMO's I can think of.
Bravo, CCP, bravo.
I'm sure I'm about to get flamed all over the place. Agreeing with CCP actions is blasphemy on these forums. But I don't care, at least they'll have one friendly voice.

I have no issue with changes. I have a problem with CCPs approach to changing things.

However, blasterboats aside, I am indeed well impressed by how much thought and effort has gone into these changes and, unfortunate consequences for The Manliest Shiptype aside, these changes will introduce some interesting and good new aspects to PvP.
I particularly like the webber nerf. I've always thought combat is EVE is too slow, ships always end up practically stationary while fighting. Nerfing webbers will allow ships to go faster, making for more interesting fights, especially for blasterboats if they don't get completely ****ed. -

Treu enough, no doubts, it cowardly... but what is so smart of ever fighting if the only situation youre fighting in is when you outblob someone else by 5 to 1 and have capitals on every corner

I solo most of the time, but yes, the style of 'pvp' in 0.0 isn't very attractive. Frigates need to be the kings of speed again and Nano Ships don't belong ingame.
Note: I don't consider ceptors, Vagabonds, or the Macharial to be nano ships...almost none of them can stay at full speed and actively engage typically (well, we don't count the Crow).

A lot of nano whiners would be surprised on hearing the sheer number of nano pilots that would agree with the imba that nano's had. However watching all my ships get horribly nerfed is a bit much.
*disclaimer*
I've always been a horrible nano pilot as I couldn't be assed to skill it up to much, but watching my deimos get pimp slapped is making me have emo tears.

Changes around microwarpdrives
Warp scramblers (the close range ones), are due for a complete makeover. Our current idea is to have MWD's deactivate as soon as they get hit by their effect, and continue to be disabled until the effect is lifted.
This creates a whole new dynamic for PVP; the choice between fitting an afterburner or a MWD becomes a tricky one. It could also create a scenario where smaller ships would prefer to use an afterburner and scrambler, instead of a MWD, webifier and disruptor. Who knows? We might even see some crazy setups where both afterburners and MWDs are utilized.
A brief reactivation delay added to the microwarpdrives might ensure a speedy target actually slowed down, and of course with the MWD disabled, a webifier would have an even greater effect.
Our current idea is to have MWD's only differ in capacitor capacity penalty as well as reactivation delay, instead of the speed progression between meta levels. This means they would all give the same speed boost, 500%, the aim being to reducing the number of factors affecting the maximum velocity attainable over a normal tech2 MWD. Webifiers
Currently when youÆre webbed itÆs pretty much game over unless youÆre doing more DPS or have a better tank. The 90% speed reduction makes combat too static and predictable when webifiers have been applied. To address this, webifiers in our proposed changes have been reduced in effectiveness down to between -50% and -60%.
Now assume that your ship needs to be within 5,000 km to be effective. Then add the fact that the fight most definatly won't be 1v1 because that rarely happens these days. You will start to see a lot of problems with engaging in short range warfare developing. I may be screaming that the sky is falling I won't know for sure until I test it out, but on paper it looks grim. As most blaster boats will now have severly questionable functionality. However I forsee a lot of whining about how I can't get in range.

Only the SCRAMBLERS (not disruptors), get the MWD shutoff ability. Scramblers have a 10km range. If someone's scrambling you, and thus shutting off your MWD, you are close enough to hit him with blasters, web him, and scramble him yourself. I don't see a problem, you would have shut off the MWD anyway once you got within blaster range, unless you enjoy missing with half your shots.

I fail to see any possible scenario where a warp scrambler messes up blasterboats any more than being webbed etc would, OTHER than a solo arazu... and tbh your blasterboat's drones can take the arazu.

Good sir, what do you plan to do with said tears? Drink them as a fine bottle of whine? Make some sort of delicious frosting for cakes?
Perhaps we could open a business together when Ambulation gets here, as I believe fine whine or delicious cake with sweet teary frosting could do well in "Mom's Basement"

I agree and think some are blowing this out of proportion, especially considering no one but CCP has tested this.
