How is this a whine? Its more of an observation.
Im mearly pointing out that it appear the much vaunted Council of Stellar management did not put forward speed as something that concerned the player base.. Yet CCP are messing with it.

It does seem strange that this change is so big yet it was not brought up at the time with the CSM, perhaps it shows that CSM is one big joke PR.

Because when taken in context with your posting over the last 6 months (plus the obvious sarcasm), this is obviously part of a larger system of interconnected whines designed to prove your point. What that point is, only you know for sure.

Just because you can dress your consitent whining as a logical point does not mean it is not a whine.
the best thing is this whine has a subtle threat with it, woot.
you dont need the CSM to tell you how many topics we have had on the subject since the inception of polycarb rigs, cause you are a vet; and youve been playing? right? ;)
common man, get it together - we all know it and have seen the way the community has reacted to the situation, CSM or no CSM.

If, as you suggest, we dont need the CSM to tell CCP what the players are concerned about, and instead they should look at all the whines on the fourms...
what the point of the csm?
Which is precisely what many have been asking for the day CCP neutered the CSM ideal.
To recap:
1) CCP Employee found to be in cahoots with player alliance. 2) BAD BAD BAD PUBLICITY 3) New York times comes to the rescue quote:

ôI envision this council being made up of nine members selected by the players themselves, where you announce your candidacy, and if you win the election, they come here to Iceland, and they can look at every nook and cranny and get to see that we are here to run this company on a professional basis,ö said Mr. Petursson, CCPÆs chief executive. ôThey can see that we did not make this game to win it.ö
4) 1 Year later the CSM is announced as a talking shop. Free holidays, matey beer drinking jokes, nerds sitting around arguing over what font the minutes should be in, and passing on some concerns to CCP for them to action.
Totally neutered and nothing like Mr Peturson was quoted as saying would be the role of the CSM (which of course was not told to the new york time)
The CSM has morphed from a "ccp anti corrpution watchdog" to
A bunch of dudes debating things which then get mostly ignored.

I feel like the CSM discussions were about things further off in the future.
Isn't it possible that this was the first issue raised by the CSM, and CCP immediately noted that the fixes were being implemented soon, and that there was no need to discuss them?
I mean, I'm sure they've been coming up with nano fixes for a while now, and the CSM meeting wasn't all that long ago. Its not like we needed the CSM to tell CCP the obvious, which is that speed/nano fits are almost required on every pvp ship now.

The balance will happen BECAUSE ccp pays attention to customers.
If CSM didn't notice the nano problem then they either don't look at the important things in Eve, or didn't bring this up deliberatly, since they enjoyed to use this i-win feature themselves.

Which obviously means, that the CSM didn't need to bring this up or discuss/debate about it, when CCP already had it on the drawing board before the CSM was even elected. If it was already being discussed and implemented internally by CCP, we don't need the CSM to make it obvious to us that it needs to be taken care of if the devs are taking care of it!
Besides, if the devs were already coding and developing (which is their job, I'm assuming ) the changes to nano before the CSM was made official, then the CSM couldn't stop it from happening, and they certainly didn't need to make it happen, based on the fact it's already happening.
Who really cares if this was an idea with the CSM first or the devs? I think it was going to be taken care of, either way.

As for what "you discussed" in your coffee break, er hang on a minute.... who gives a shit what you discussed. You were voted in by the player base to bring a set of concerns which themselves were voted on to CCP.
YOU WERE NOT VOTED IN TO SIT AROUND THE WATERCOOLER DISCUSSING AND PURSUING YOUR OWN PRIVATE AGENDAS THAT WERE NOT ON THE LIST

If we assume the following:
1) CSM members were voted into a postion of some power, in order to present to CCP the playerbases concerns
2) The playerbase selected a list of concerns to be presented to ccp via its elected officials ... you.
3) There was not enough support for a "nano whine" to go ontot the CSM list of things to present to CCP.
4) In your own admission, you
"you can bet we discussed nano a lot, when we had a break from the meetings"
5) Why were you using your elected position to "discuss nanos" when it was not deemed to be one of the things the playerbase were concerned about.
6) Does this seem to you to be an incredibly stupid/naive/corrupt admission when a large percentage of the player base already views the CSM as self serving.

Oh dear massive fail.
1)You have to activate the bombs as they warp in - not sit with them active 2) Smartbombing kills intys/frigates/cov ops ships.
These will still be flown post nerf - and will still be killed by smartbombs post nerf
Smartbombing does not kill nano cruisers, and still wont after the nerf
So your smart bombing whine means nothing to the issue at hand except perhaps proving that I gave you a damn good pwning once.

Going to go out on a limb here and guess that they had been looking at this far before CSM came around. Plus, the CSM does not drive the exclusive list of issues the DEVs *themselves* think need correcting.
CSM merely brings concerns of the playbase to the forefront. No where has it ever been stated that only the issues the CSMs bring up would be on the agenda for fixing.
Either way, change is coming.
