so glad you read that on the forums, so glad you been in fleet combat, so glad you know nothing about this game and are just a joke, cheers.
If you doubt that I can apply combat tactics in real PvP, feel free to come to the Bleak Lands and prove me how terrible I actually am. In fact, if you'd like to arrange a duel in Amarr high-sec I'd be happy to accommodate that as well.
Quote: the real problems in eve the DEVs can't fix. My new tinfoil hat thoughts are the dev's all have a god complex and they are trying to remove the older experienced players out of spite that we actually know how the game should be played while their sole job now is just to feck it up.
lag, titans, sov, BOs, bombs, POS the list goes on forever, but they chose speed to screw with and in typical ccp fashion they suck at changning things once the players have spoken...
I know, that's why after continually repeating this argument for months and months on end you're still giving CCP your money and free time, right? ---------------- Play EVE: Downtime Madness v0.83 (Updated 7/3) |

I send devs money all the time. I think they make a great game, even if they hate carebears. I still love them.
Of course, I expect some for of recompense for my donations. ISK, nano nerfs, ambulation ... any of it will do.

I was in a fleet battle today. That is, if you can call it a battle. It took about 15 minutes for us to get into the system. Then about 10 minutes to target one person, just to find out that that person is already dead. Another 10 minutes to target another one and then 5 more minutes before you can fire.
I was so frustrated. After all, i was very excited to be a part of my first big fleet action. When i got there i wasnt hardly able to contribute anything. In the 4 hours i was in the fleet i was able to fire about 3 minutes of that time. Huge disappointment.
I would think that the "huge black whole of death" aka lag would/should act as a deterrent to blobbing. I know that I will never be a part of a large fleet again.
EVE CANNOT HANDLE LARGE BATTLES, SIMPLE AS THAT

the fleet battles are ok it just you keep blobbing until the server lags ... remember the server is got 30k member on it and your purpously braking them to shoot what 4 guys :P i dont think you need 200 peeps to shoot 4 guys
it your fleet that is the problem this is why i roam

there are too many r3tards who know too little and talk too much.
the essense of lag is the requirement or the necessity to bring lots of people to do mindless stuff so it takes less time to do mindless stuff, i.e shoot stationary objects. This is what generates a majority of the problems. WHen you start mouthing off about reducing client lag, yes that helps but moar often than not, the node goes thru a poo poo phase and 15-20% of the people are actually playing, so if 1 side has moar peeps, percentage wise they win. thats the problem.
Client Side lag = grid loadings, low FPS some module lag Server side lag = HOLY JESUS BATMAN DESYNCH DEATH BLACK SCREEN O DEATH, EMERGENCY WARPS, SHIP NOT RESPONDING, etc, etc, jump traffic lag, my pod chasing my ship shooting my corpse kinda weirdness
Blobs will always exsist as fail congragates with fail, but if the HP wasn't so damn high on POS/anchorables/Station services less people could do moar. thats what was suppose to happen with revelation when the anchorables went outside the shields
and yet at every step CCP has screwed up and made the situation worse. that expression, "the path to hell is paved with good intentions can not possibly be any moar acurate than with CCP and EVE

There will be a slight boost in the servers abilities to handle load with Ambulation, I think. I spend a lot of time in a station, on one client or another. At a certain point, systems like Jita will have still have their massive trade traffic, but those who are in-station would probably have better luck getting out and wandering around.
Which, with how the server-loads work controlling system ships, if you can 'reduce' the number of players drawing system information from being afk in stations, you might ... just might ... be able to spend those assets in other areas.
But blobs will prevail until it is no longer efficient to fly in one.

The problem is not that there is some conspiracy in cpp to avoid fixing the problem. Rather, if ccp with their collective wisdom cannot fix the problem, (god knows they try), then perhaps there is no solution.
The sheer ammount of information that the server must process in a fleet battle is enormous. And it increases at a rapid rate as more people join the battle.
Indeed, few other programs attempt to achieve such large numbers in fights. I suspect that they know that it is impossible, so they avoid the problem.

if you look up at my poast, the first time you see your pod shooting your burning ship while the duo is emergency warping around system and the killmails are going off is when you have node lag. Everything else is just client lag

I did so much unplayable fleet battles in the Great War... I still remember my 3 Rokhs lost in a row against BOB without be able to shoot one ammunition.
I think that EVE was able to handle larger battles some months ago. Today, it is common to have a big lag with only 100 vs 100.
I still wait for the EVE supercomputer, maybe it will be operationnal when Duke Nukem Forever will be available ____
