As a complete outsider who loves reading CAOD, I would like to say that certain other alliances could learn from the honourable way these 2 fight and congratulate each other.
More of this in CAOD please!

You, sir, just made the whole spank-a-dread mess of yesterday much more enjoyable! Even the DDD I got in the face as soon as I arrived at your POS.
Hats off to -A- and their masterful fighting. We're lucky to have such worthwhile enemies to learn from. --- Kate [HKG, PXF] "The game with voices, that you can't win, nor finish." |

Simple facts show you did get pwnd, plain and simple, your wrecks are on the field, theirs are not.
Loosing 23 dreads and 2 carriers, while only killing 9 dreads is not being pwn'ed ? and AS i understand it, you had the grid load advantage as well...... |

1)No sir, due to the prime time difference between CVA/Allies and -A- the latter had the control of the field
2)Both ours and theirs wrecks were on the battlefield. Of course more our wrecks than theirs, we have not been victorious in the fight.
Once again, thanks to -A- for the fight, seeing 68 dreads 3 moms and 2 titans waiting for combat to start was really an awe-inspiring experience :)

Kudos to -A- for smackfree fights. Great adversaries that make winning and loosing an equally rewarding experience :P Sometimes plans just don't work out :D
Just one uninvolved bystander had to ruin it and smack both parties in local.

I get alot of "target is invulnerable" when locking but no jumps, no warps, still in grid. It's rubber banding, it has been happening alot in Eve and never used to. |

Err then AAA dreads came in about 30 against 30, then another cva cyno, another 10 caps, then aaa cyno and another 15 caps, then another aaa cyno and 15 caps...
CVA got ****d...

It sure was a new experience for me..
As i got late on, and no chance to jump in to a sniper and get in to the action, i decided to go in something speedie and get in the action as tackler...
Never been tackler in such a fight before....and i have to say, im very impressed with those that manage to tackle anything in these fights...
Lag was not a problem as long as i didnt go to where the -A- pos were. Was able to tackle some -A- at a planet and the litle latency in modules were okish.
But, when warping to pos and should tackle hostile dreads or what not, i had hostile ships targetting me from 350km distance, modules not working, and ships shooting me i wasnt able to see
To not get shot down right away i figured i atleast could allign to somewhere in space and hit mwd now and then, just so i didnt sit still.....
At the end i think it was a huginn that killed me, even though i had 3 more ships on my kill mail but i never saw those... The huginn pilot must be used to this, cause he was able to get out of my locking range as soon as i got lock and then get back close... And he had been shot at a lot.....both his armor and most of his struct where gone, and only flying with 50% shield left... Talk about living on the edge
This experience gave me a lot of respect to those dedicated tacklers who is able to fight under these enviroments...

The only annoyance i have with this fight is that there's a deathmail of mine floating around somewhere with 2 titans on it and not alot else, that has yet to land in my combat log

Thats me, had 27 structure left at one point before I needed to regen some shields back up again. Lag was pretty heavy in the beginning so was trying to avoid taking dmg and try to kill some small shit, but it got better after a while.

So final tally is:
AAA
Kills: 26 dreads, 4 carriers Losses: 10 dreads
I got wtfpwned in the very beginning by a CVA support fleet on planet 1 :( God knows why I warped there but I think the CVA lads were as surprised as me when they saw me warping alone to the planet on top of their 50 man support squadron :P

Actually, the one thing that did go properly for us in that fight from a command/control perspective is that someone did report what direction -A- support vessels were warping out/back from so we managed to have our support there waiting.
The overall results speak for themselves, as I said earlier...there's no reason to deny we got manhandled. Internally there's a full break-down of what...well, "broke down" for us (there were several factors) but making excuses is a) lame and b) could potentially compromise later operations
We lose this round for sure. We'll have to be content with costing -A- about 30 dreads this weekend while losing (as a Providence community) quite a bit more.

hmm... well I think both alliance took great losses.
-aaa- in the last 3 days lost 26 dreads (a lot for 1 alliance)
the 5 alliance they are fighting took 45 capital looses.
No idea who will recover faster but i personally think 5 alliance can recover faster.

Compare our losses with yesterday and Friday. Specifically the names of pilots, then decide if our logistics are really that bad :)
Anyways, GF to CVA/IAC and friends. I really thought this fight was never gonna happen, especially when our CTA was called off after killing the first pos with no resistance. So I log off, go get some food, watch tv, come back and see my msnger flashing and people yelling for capitals. Log back in, join fleet, get cynod right into the fight and start shooting. Was a lot of fun, and minimal lag for me. -------------------------------------------------

Edited by: Darkwingd on 28/07/2008 16:36:35 From a Paxton grunt point of view.
Get home horribly late from family outing(good lord why, my desire to sit and listen to my family talk about politics is low). I log in and undock and x up thinking that we were close to if not already jumping in. In my rush I forgot to 1) check my fitting, sorta forgot my 3rd bcu, and 2) insure my ship, whoops.
Sadly we did not have the numbers to engage the combined -a- unl fleet so we sit around hoping for more dreads to magically appear. Gang hovered around 50 people for what seemed like forever.
First POS went down and a break was called as the next one didn't come out for another 4 hours. People started to log as it was getting to late, others went on extended afks, gang chat became a spam of youtube links, it was very relaxed until we hear, ET's Erebus just got bumped 30km out the POS shield.
Yells went out in Gang, TS, and Vent for everyone to wake up and get ready, people slowly woke up and we found our cyno pilot(who had gone afk)and he gets ready to light up. Cynos up and we get orders to drop siege upon jump in and start pounding on the titan while carriers bump him.
However as the fleet is jumping in we hear reports that hes back in the shield, order goes out don't drop siege, with responses of "I already did." When the grid loads we have our blob sitting 25 km off the POS with the Erebus behind the shield. Orders go out to wait out the 10 min for siege, and while we are here to take out the scram batteries on the pos.
Start to unload on the batteries and a swarm of dictors come and bubble the crap out of us, we were in one giant fuzzy bubble, looked cool. Dreads come out of siege and we get the orders to align to planet 7, only realizing to late that takes us towards the pos so we have to flip around and align to the F9E gate.
Dictor bubbles start to drop and some cyno out immediately, leading to a bit of confusion but its dealt with and we move on, finally every one is aligned and the gang warp goes.....and 8 dreads are still bubbled gg.... one of them being me.
As the gang warps off a cyno goes up and -a- Dreads start to jump in. Those of us that are left on the field are told to drop siege and the rest of the gang warps back and we start to have a good old fashion slug fest.
Primaries and secondaries are called, at first it seems its going well but eventually their superior numbers catches up with us and we get the order to get out if we can.
I end my siege cycle and start to move out of the bubble I am in. Im almost out of the bubble my entire overview starts flashing red, and not being in siege boy howdy do I die fast.
All in all we got throughly worked. But it was a blast and by far the most fun Ive had in Eve in a long time(better than the 20 min of grid loading->crash->spend and hour trying to get back in that was Friday).
Looking forward to more.
