R.Db are Research Databases. They are NPC corp specific and are used to research T2 BPOs; ME, PE and Copying.

so if i am at a viziam science lab and i want to research tech 2 ...probe(cheetah)...i use a R.Db from viziam for Me or PE ?
does the BPC's original Corp have to match the R.Db as well...Cheetah being made by Core Complex I believe so would I need to go there instead?

It what tell you what you need for research or copying, items & or skills.

To reiterate they work only on BPO, they are needed for all the T2 and some T1.

It has nothing to do with the facility, it has to do with the NPC corp that is attached to that particular BPO. If you need them they will be listed as a material requirement for research on the BPO you are researching. They are not needed for invention or production. Only some ME/PE/Copying on some BPOs (mostly T2).

t2 BPO's.... are some still be made or can one only obtain copies now?

T2 BPO's can still be obtained... from other players who already own them, and for billions of isk.

R.db are for use with T2 Bpos only [I think they should be able to be used on bpc's or invention - but that's another matter]
you can only get T2 BPos from other players - none more are given out. [don't whine about it - 90% of T2 bpo's are not that useful]
