Blaster BS: My Hype/Mega do about 1100m/sec max on TQ. They do about ~810m/sec now on SISI with the exact same fittings, and take about 2x longer to accelerate up to any given speed. Because of this, the time required to cover the same distance is increased by about a factor of FOUR.
Blaster BS can track other BS relatively well with the new webs. Anything smaller than a BS can outrun the tracking with ease. I've been soloing blaster ships with my armor tanked Ishtar no problem. Null at longer ranges doesn't help, but all you hard core blaster pilots already knew that.
Any 9km scram hits you while in a small gang fight (read: FFA1 for example on SISI) and you're screwed. Zero mobility. Because your weapon range is limited to about 5km, anyone outside that bubble isn't getting touched. You're a pitbull on a very short leash.
Afterburners. They're a joke. Blaster BS with ABs are useless, as is any other blaster ship with an AB, save possibly the Enyo/Ishkur/Incursus, but that's a special case.
Smaller ships- the Astarte, Brutix, Deimos and Thorax: It's a mess. ABs don't make them fast enough, and MWDs just get shut down. One half assed thing about BS is that with neutrons and null you can reach a good 15km. With Neutron IIs and null with the Astarte for instance, you're looking at about 6km, and crap DPS even at that range.
The smaller ships are really slow. Covering even medium distances with a Deimos in a HAC centric fight is a joke. You're out of cap by the time you reach the target. If you don't have an injector, you're not even going to make it into range, much less be able to fight once you're there. Webs just make everything worse. You can't hold anyone down once they're webbed. You have to constantly waste a LOT of cap using your MWD. Did I mention that they're slow?
The AB Enyo. AFs are a novelty. I use them to kill huge ships for no other reason than to see if I can actually do it. The blaster Enyo with an AB doesn't work very well. If it's in range to use it's blasters it can't track well while orbiting, and can't do enough damage to anything that can't track it. Anything it *can* kill can track it and it'll be dead before it's target is. Oh well.
In other news... missile ships are great. I have a HAM Cerb doing 440 DPS at 45km with faction ammo and doesn't need to bother with tracking, MWDs turning off, or any of that other silly crap that blaster ships have to worry about. And it passive tanks 129 DPS. Go figure.
Of course, I have said all of this before any of it could be tested on SISI and everyone said 'wait till you can actually test it before complaining!". I hate being so f#cking smart sometimes. I really do.
It is simple mate, MWD gets shut down YES, BUT you dont use it to fly fast, only to get into combat range, and with the new web nerf, youll eaven get there when your MWD is shut down at 9 KM. Ever thought about fitting MWD and AB ? =) gL trying fittings on SiSi
