Edited by: oniplE on 29/07/2008 22:51:21 So now that the cap penalties on MWDs have changed, how does the Deimos MWD bonus work?
Does it just remove the MWD cap penalty @ lvl 5? Or does it actually create more cap when you use a low cap penalty MWD (anything but t1) with a lvl 5 MWD deimos bonus? (its always lvl 5 due to gallente cruiser 5)
For example, a t2 mwd now has a -17% max cap bonus. Does this mean the deimos will have 8% more cap when fitting an mwd?
The description is very unclear if not incorrect, i hope CCP can shed some light on this now that the cap penalties have changed.
Also, can i suggest a bonus for the deimos that removes the mwd reactivation feature? It needs its mwd to stay in range and these new features are not making its job easier, it can use some help. x |

Originally by: Darth Felin Well there is one crazy idea inspired by Sin. MWD bonus is not so great at test because most mwd have lesser penalty. What if Sin's agility bonus will became new Gallente "native" bonus? It will give blaster ships much needed at "sprint distances" against similar ships.
P.S. btw Mega is not the Gallente Ultimate Blaster Boat(c), it should be Hyperion but due to some reasons mega became better both as sniper as well as blasterboat for some time.
So because of CCP's inability to balance we have to give up a bonus on our ships to make up for it?
A bonus that can easily be missed if the cap amount is increased. They did the same with the vindicator and vigilant, lowered the mwd bonus to 5% but increased the standard amount of cap. They could do the same here. x |

imo increase tracking on ALL close range weapons to compensate for the web nerf.
Its only fair, hitting targets now requires more tracking. Afaik this nerf wasnt implemented to kill close range combat so i see no reason why it should suffer.
The new scrambler feature and reactivation delay: Horrible. I want my MWD to function under all circumstances, i want to maintain close range to the target. I'm not using my MWD to kite around and outrun drones/missiles like the nano ships this nerf was aimed against. Nano ships fixed, close range ships broken. Replacing one problem with a new one isnt pretty. x |

And dont remove drones, they are part of ship. And they count in real fight.
Sweet, I'll download it immediately. And I always use 'real' combat fits, not theoretical best case fits. And combat drones rarely figure into it.
Edit:
Newly generated DPS graph here:
GRAPH
Blue is Hype, Red is Temp, Green is Raven. Amusingly, the Tempest does the same or *more* DPS at all ranges (without using any drones even) as the Hype does. Again, the Raven is the clear winner here, with the Tempest ahead of the Hype, but only by a small margin.
It's impressive that the Tempest can do almost exactly the same or more DPS than the much vaunted 'king of damage' the Blaster Hype. You'd think the blaster ships would do significantly more DPS than other turret ships, but clearly that isn't the case.
Can you post the setups used? x |

Originally by: Mr Friendly I was going to post a bunch of stuff after reading this thread. Then I realized I just can't care any more. I'm a Solo Gallente Facemelter pilot when I can be bothered to do pvp and can avoid the usual 10+ gangs. Now my beloved blaster boats are being needlessly violenced because CCP is moving precipitously and injudiciously.
I'm wondering if I care enough to survive yet another adaptation cycle.
Sad panda :(
I feel similar, most of my 30m'ish skillpoints are geared towards gallente pvp. When i started this game, gallente was a great pvp race. But in the last two years gallente pvp took a lot of hits. About a month ago i got fed up with it and i've been skilling caldari pvp ever since. x |

thats the good point about this patch.
no more noob gallentes with their easy pvp ship, now u actualy have it as hard as caldari...
be smart and get a tackler or go on whining like a moron about loosing the attribute as the "easiest pvp race in the game"
Nerd Rage, yay!
