This ought to be interesting & fun. Presumably the barges will all be T1 barges?
edit: will there even be barges?
Nope. Four T1 frigs and a T1 cruiser only per team.
You're going to have to mine it the old fashioned way - no strip miners here, baby!

You aren't limited beyond the rules in the blog - ie, T1 only. You can do what you like within that.
Though killing and podding your opponents then coming back in mining fittings won't be much good if they come back in PvP fittings, unless you're *really* good at dodging gunfire in a Tormentor :)
Quote: And why bring super characters? limit it to peoples existing skills I say >:D
We want it to be a reflection of your skill at pvp, not your skillpoints on the character sheet; also, we want everyone at fanfest to have the chance to compete equally, new and old players alike.

Interesting...what's to prevent people from fitting combat ships except for 1 mining laser per ship and just killing the opposing mining ships?
Nothing? :)

Is the rorqual piloted?
No, think of it as a huge, cool looking secure container. It's there to drop off ore to, nothing more.
Quote: And second question: Is the enemy's rorqual targetable...
You will not be able to destroy the enemy Rorqual.

This will be bloody hilarious. Is it restricted to alliances? How many teams?
The details will be announced later on this month as per the blog, but no, it won't be restricted to alliances.

Wow, I think that's the first time since I was a baby that someone has successfully corrected my use of English. Thanks :)

No.
Originally by: Kirenna Zhon So am I correct in assuming that in order to participate you must be at Fanfest?
It depends, have you reached a level of spiritual transcendence that will allow you to project your physical self to Reykjavik? If so, then you could play without actually being at fanfest :)
But seriously, yep, the tourney is run at fanfest on a special server, so you do have to be there to play.

/me thinks scythe w/ tracking links and thrashers
Destroyers are not Frigates, nope.

pleas say I'm wrong and I can play....got some grate ideas.
This is the Fanfest PvP tournament, so only Fanfest attendees will be able to participate.

I'll copy this in the FAQ thread - the answer is yes, ECM modules are allowed. Tech 1 only, of course.
