Obama's 13 year old daughter is apparently vacationing in Mexico - with a detachment of 25 Secret Service agents.
None of the stories were overtly political, mostly your typical slobbering Obama-vacation worship coverage, though a few uncomfortable themes emerge (ie massive expense to visit a region under a national travel advisory....)
And even if the political attacks were being made - Homeboy Prez trots out his daughters at the drop of a hat when it suits his propaganda needs.
The event was widely reported in the Mexican/Spanish speaking world, so as far as security is concerned, the cat was already out of the bag.
Yet, shortly after being posted the stories were all ordered taken down...... Without comment or explanation.
The Telegraph, Huff Po, IBL, Free Republic, The Austrialian, the list goes on and on.
Shows how easily this White House can control what we are allowed to know, and how easily Obama wields this power.
As much as I love making fun of those poor botting slobs in Putins' Russiaworld, I really wonder how much different our subservient Western media is these days. |

Or maybe the Secret Service has the power to censor the media in certain security situations? Has anyone tried *asking* the Secret Service and or media organizations why the story "disappeared"?
No, of course not. Step one is to automatically assume that Obama is censoring the media because he's a Tyrant. A Tyrant who can't get squat passed in Congress. A Tyrant that's up for re-election, and at best, can serve just two terms as Leader.
Seriously, it's mindless crap like this that makes it really difficult to take the conservatives seriously anymore. Also, leave the conspiracy theories to the professional conspiracy nutjobs. It's amateurs like you that drag the rest of us down.

Stories about presidential children are often taken down or scrapped.
If she was caught doing blow off of a hooker, yeah that will make the papers but the fluff stuff not so much.
Remember these are the news outlets that rely on White House press releases to get the latest stories. The consensus is that children of the first family is off limits unless their is a scandal or they agree to be interviewed.

This.
I'll be concerned when the "free press" pulls a newsworthy story because the president orders it. This is just meaningless fluff, and I don't give a **** if the media decides they'd rather keep a major public figure's good will than run a fluff story that nobody is going to care about 15 minutes after they read it. |

My favorite conspiracy theory?
Its how Obama is doing his best to use federal regulations to discourage domestic oil development, reduce access to Canadian Tar Sands oil, and shut down coal fired power plants, artifically driving up the cost of traditional fossil fuels until we all are forced to take the bus or "lol-speed rail", while lining the pockets of Obama's donors and buddies in the green energy racket.
Ha ha ha, but thats just tinfoil crazy talk.
Unfortunately for Obama, he failed to consider how badly rising fuel prices and higher costs of living were going to damage his re-election prospects. He said as much on video to a college-age supporter during a 2008 'town hall meeting'. He just naively expected the American voter drink the 'green' Kool-aid and then bend over and take it for the team.

Plus, Logic Problems: * oil produced in the US is sold on the world market via the international oil companies, so it's not like pumping locally will reduce US gas prices. * if gas in cheap in the US (e.g. Newt's $2.50 gas promise,) people will just buy it up and sell it on the world market for profit. * and yes, global warming is real and mankind is the main driver behind it.
tinfoil: More importantly, why should the US squander its oil reserves for some very minor short term price relief? The Illuminati think long term. Sitting on US oil reserves means that down the road, the US will have an Oil fueled military with which to conquer its solar and battery powered enemies/friends/neighbors.

-Oil produced in the US creates domestic jobs and wealth, vs imported oil. But Obama would rather sacrifice that on the green altar. Further people don't understand how massive some of these US shale and Canadian Tar sands deposits are. The deposits in Alberta alone, have nearly 10x the potential reserves of the entire Middle East. While only 15% is recoverable with current technology at current prices, that still equates to a massive supply. Peak oil doomsday nuts must be crying in their lattes. Combine that with the revolution in natural gas 'fracking', fossil fuel energy will be relatively cheap and plentiful for a very, very long time. This has the side effect of rendering any investment in 'renewables' instantly stupid - and makes Obama's 'Energy Department Solyndra federal grant recipients/2012 campaign donors' very very sad.
-So......if thats the case, why aren't European entrepreneurs buying up the US cheap gas and selling it in Europe? Oh, yeah, government interference. Saying that government policy isn't partially responsible for gasoline prices is simply pants-on-head stupid, when the commodity is taxed at both the federal and state level, and the production of which is subjected to a myriad of gov't cost inflating regulation dictacting specfic blends in different regions at different times of year.
-Global warming stopped in the 90's. Still waiting for an explanation why, but the hacked emails from the so called 'experts' have already told us they have no idea. Get with the program, Al Gore might have been a left-wing rock star 5-6 years ago, but he's a national joke now. |

Guess you missed the news.... Average Global Temperatures between the mid 90's and end of the last decade? Standstill. No increase. Ever heard the phrase, "hide the decline?" Came out of 'Climategate'. Hacked email from a climate expert who couldn't explain this inconvenient reality, but was unhappy about the potential political setback it would bring for his favorite cause.
Glad I could fill you in. Guess I don't blame you, most of this stuff got very little attention from liberal sources such as NBC, CNN, or the BBC. Didn't fit their template and agenda, so it never happened. Thank goodness that FOX considered it newsworthy, so the story wasn't completely buried. |

Speaking of keeping up with the news, I guess you missed the study funded by the energy companies and the Koch brothers (big global warming opponents) that went over the climategate data and even checked on issues such as whether temperature sensor readings were thrown off by being in close proximity to airports, etc.. The study's analysis of the data confirmed the climategate results. The hockey stick is real. The only remaining "out" for climate change opponents is to find huge, undiscovered carbon sinks in the oceans.
http://www.csmonitor.com/Environment/2011/1021/Climate-study-funded-in-part-by-conservative-group-confirms-global-warming
Seriously, the data and the team have been investigated and vindicated multiple times. There's just not a lot of scientific wiggle room left for climate change opponents.
IMO, society as we know it is probably boned. I think that humanity as a whole is not going to take climate change seriously until either something dramatic happens or until the effects become very noticeable, such as permanent changes in weather, erratic growing seasons, loss of farmlands, or some coastal areas become submerged. But by then it will probably be too late, and we'll have to get busy moving/adapting our farms and cities to the new climate.
Also, I'm thinking that the US will absorb Canada as a means of securing the newly exposed Canadian and Arctic resources being exposed by the loss of ice/perma-frost, and also to have a large north-south landmass in order to maximize the chance of having arable farmland if climate changes turn US cropland into another dustbowl.

I have no problem with the idea that people can be at the extreme ends of the political spectrum. However, it's turning into a case of "a lie told often enough and loudly enough, will be believed by enough of the people" situation.
Example: ObamaCare. The individual mandate is worrisome because it potentially sets a dangerous precedent with the government mandating a product. However, what do we get instead? Lies, damn lies, and made up statistics from people who should know better: http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2012/mar/21/health-care-fact-checking/ /facepalm
Charles Manson, who tried to start a prophesied race war by committing several murders, is probably looking at today's political rhetoric/climate and thinking "Doh! If I had my own FoxNews, negative ads, and a super-pac back in the 60s, we'd be in the middle of the apocalypse right now!"

Actually, every US military base I've ever worked on, televisions in public spaces were tuned to Fox News. Probably because the soldiers prefer cable news that doesn't insult their intelligence.
I've frequently listened to and watched BBC news services, when there is absolutely nothing else to listen to on the radio. (IE, driving through foreign countries) The left wing bias is painfully obvious, though not quite as obvious and self-serving as NPR.

I think actors and journalists often think 'well what i just did there was a load of crap, pays the rent\mortgage I suppose, on a rare occasion I do something half decent'.
