Good chance that these specific miners weren't banned, but just were waiting to see on their little botting-forums what CCP's next step was. And now they think they are safe, they are back. I've got people who read EVE News 24 and they tell me there hasn't been an 'all clear' post yet. For realz. Bet Riverini wishes he never had a thing to do with that 'how-to'-guide posing as a 'what to look out for'-guide to botting. I'm really lazy but want to see this famous guide which I believe was removed him the site.
Is it actually a proper guide, or is it about as accurate as reports of our continual cascading?

MadMuppet wrote:Well it will be an interesting test of response times. If CCP is slow enough in responding it will still be a potentially viable method of earning isk in the game. So long as the response times is greater than the training time plus operations cost recuperation time plus minimum desired profits earned time, it is going to keep going on.
Two months to train a Hulk, plus the ship. Just over 1.5 billion isk in hardware and PLEX. If the bot can make 100+ mil isk a day it would need about two weeks of 'getting away with it' to pay for itself before becoming profitable. That would be your 'minimum first response time'. A two week ban would add another 500mil loss for another PLEX, but that would only require 4-5 days to recoup, so there is your 'second response time'. Coming out of the second ban (another PLEX of 500mil) you again need to respond in 4-5 days or they make a profit again. The ban hammer then falls on the account.
So they need to keep it within a 22 days tracking window to burn them down to no profit, more or less.
Excellent analysis. +1
Of course you made the case for a new bot. The old ones got away with this for a long time so the botter's are funded for months ahead and will keep coming back under new accounts. Incarna - Newest business example of mismanaged capital.

Yep a friend of mine bots, 2 weeks of mining paid for the initial investment on 10 accounts. Then by the end of second month mining he had aquired isk to buy from the character bazzar a second 10 man team.
Over 6 months he aquired another 2 * 10 man teams. 4 teams of 10 in total
He had half the characters in is his first team suspended of the 2 weeks. He took a holiday and is back botting with a 0.0 alliance, all it costs him is a few dollars a month to be a member of a certain website and supply of enough minerals to build 1 battlecruiser per character per month. he currently mines for 8 hours with the team. When thing quiet down he is going to use 3 teams and rotate them mining for 8 hours each

Prices of minerals continually went up until threads like this started to show on forum few says ago, now prices started to continually go down...
Its obvious. Prices only went up because botts banning and fear of the rest of botters who didnt bott for some time.

Mineral prices are going down because they went up.
Mineral prices went up, someone spread the word that mining was valuable again, bunch of folks got into mining, no one bothered to check the market before pointing lasers at rocks.
Heck, I saw one group specifically targeting Scordite in fields full of Pyroxeres. Some people just don't get it. |

Next year might have a fanfest so there is a good chance you'll see the 2nd bot banning wave then. |
