I have not done PvE since my first month in EVE and have now joined FW after a long time in zero sec. Needless to say, my fittings skills for running missions in T1 frigates and dessies are rusty.
Based on the kind of fighting one does to capture plexes and do faction missions, what are some recommended loadouts for the Punisher and Coercer?

Any good reason for gateguns shooting drones and thus removing dronebased ships from pirating? |

Bleed puni
3x dual light pulse @ gamma small nos
ab scrambler
small armor rep cap power relay cap power relay cap power relay
Worked against alot of stuff before, could fly under cruiser guns. Dunno about minnies since right now theyre faster and can dictate range.
Glascannon
8x dual light pulse tracking computer @ optimal 2x heatsink whatever you can fit to get as much buffer as possible on last 2 lows
needs tacklers, can track and kill inties even when theyre nano. Also effective on plexes. ---

Here's what I'm running in my punisher for PVE and Level 1 missions.
High: Med Anode Pulse Particle Stream 1 Med Pulse Laser 1 Dual Modal Pulse Laser 1
Mid: Cold-Gas I ArcJet Thrusters Medium Supplemental Barrier Emitter 1
Low: Heat Sink 1 Micro Aux Power Core 1 Overdrive Injector Sys 1 50 MM Tungsten Plate 1
So far, I have been able to go against 3 NPC crusiers or 6 NPC destroyers, or as many as 20 frigs and seldon even get into my armour. And the nice thing about this setup, most of it was loot from belt rats!
And as soon as I get some more training done, I've got more upgrades ready to go!

It's been so long since I've done any PvE, I was trying to remember if the really light stuff could be run with just a buffer tank or required an active. I seem to remember doing a lot of kiting with my Level 1s (and my Level 2s with an Arbitrator and drones).
It would seem that FW plexing is similar. Also, I recall beams would work well for missioning, whereas they are suck for PvP. So could I get away with beams on a Coercer and still do these things, or should I stick with pulse setups like:
200mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I Damage Control II 2x Heat Sink II
1MN MicroWarpdrive II
8x Dual Light Pulse Laser II, Scorch S
Optimals out to 15K and can run everything for a minute and a half. Don't suppose I'd have to run the MWD all the time. Can you FW plex with an AB and beams?
Damage Control II 2x Tracking Enhancer II Heat Sink II
1MN Afterburner II
8x Dual Light Beam Laser II, Amarr Navy Microwave S
I fit Aurora and gasped at the tracking (as always) and though of Microwave instead. Thoughts?
To Zarcam, you'll get criticized for mixing weapons, but I understand you may be fitting what you can afford and it's hard early in the game to get everything to squeeze in. I compared what you have with comparable equipment in Jita. How about:
200mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I Emergency Damage Control I Heat Sink I Type-D Altered SS Overdrive Injector
Catalyzed Cold-Gas I Arcjet Thrusters Small Subordinate Screen Stabilizer I
3x Dual Anode Pulse Particle Stream I, Xray S
Everything fits with only Electronics and Engineering II. When you can, sell your stuff for best price in Amarr, then fly to Jita to buy your ships and gear. You'll find lower prices there, particularly on Amarr stuff. If you can be patient, learn to place Buy Orders in Jita and you'll get most things for 40-50% off the best selling prices. -- Meridius Dex --

For solo work in plexes ull want range or speed (nah forget speed, be a man), and starting from medium permatank is good to have. Now the problem is, how the hell do i PVP in such ships? The truth is out there On a side note i usually dont fit AB or MWD on plexing ships and do them just fine. Including killing/scaring minnies away. P.S. All above is for solo work, obviously u can go crazy in gang. ---- Drones eat everything. Trust me. |

Thank You, you gave me some more ideas to play with. And yeah, I've been putting things together as I find or loot them them. Most of my isk right now is going towards skill books, which I have a few more high end ones on my list before I start investing in ships. I have been playing with buy and sell orders recently and adding a few Trade skills, but I haven't ventured to Jita yet.
If you don't mind me asking (and I hope I'm not high jacking this thread), why use all the same weapons and crystals? And why XRay crystals? I have recently started playing with crystals, but have found the Multifreq's to have the best punch at close range, many time one-shop pops on small rats.

Punisher for L1 missions:
Highs: 3x Dual Modulated Pulse Energy Beams (Best named) 1x Small Nosferatu
Mids: 1x Cold-gas Arcjet Thrusters 1x Barton Capacitor Recharger
Lows: 1x Small Armor Repairer II 1x Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane I 1x Capacitor Relay I 1x Heat Sink I
5% armor resists per level ftw!

Although, yes, most everyone fighting at close optimals uses Multis (including me), they do draw more cap and I didn't know how good your skills were. When doing low-level missions Standard, X-ray or even Gamma can be more forgiving.
It's very good right now to get into the habit of fitting the same weapons and ammo across the board. You will find it helps you better set your default orbit and Keep At ranges. Trust me that it's easier to know how much uniform damage you do, regardless of whether you have one, two or all guns on a target and at what ranges you have optimal, falloff, etc.
If you haven't already done so, I can't recommend enough the Eve Fitting Tool for your ships and EVEMon for your skill plans. They will help you avoid much heartache as you choose how to fit your ship and skill it up. I don't even know how much ISK and time I lost my first few weeks in EVE because I kept buying things I'd forget I didn't have the skills for or was off in my calculations as to whether they'd fit on my ship. -- Meridius Dex --
