I have flown through 100 belts one day, yes 100 belts, several systems, and out of those 100 belts in systems with more than 10 people, I was able to observe at least 3-4 Macro Miners mining the belts. They are not hard to locate. All CCP has to do is go to the belts and you will find them easily enough... IF you really wanted to look for them. My experience is that you generally won't/don't.
Easier to suicide the bastiches than wait for you guys to deal with them.

Although that is a GREAT idea I think CCP have more pressing issues to fly round hundreds of hi-sec asteroid belts.
Thats my point actually. They want us to report these macro runners, yet, nothing and I mean literally NOTHING is done about them, even when it is GROSSLY obvious someone is running a Macro. I can literally go to nearly any high sec system with a decent player population (10+ player) and almost guarantee that out of those players, at minimum, and usually more, 1-3 will be a macro miner. I can also go to ANY high sec ICE field and GUARANTEE Macro Miners will be there.
Hell, there are macro Miners in almost every 0.9-1.0 system I have been in. If CCP really wanted to do something about them, they would have. Instead all their doing is blowing smoke up everyone's gas hole about it and doing nothing.
MA
Cool, what's it like inside CCPs offices? Can you give us some inside info on the devs?
Oh, wait... you don't have access to CCP. You cannot say they aren't doing anything, you don't know that. Just because there are plenty of macro farmers left doesn't mean that hundreds (thousands?) haven't been removed. Getting rid of them all is a gargantuan and near impossible task in my opinion, especially with the limited staff they have.

In her defense, there are only so many ways you can say "petition them." ---------------- Play EVE: Downtime Madness v0.83 (Updated 7/3) |

And it still smells of lies each and every time. CCP don't care about macro users as long as they aren't disruptive. This is simply how it is.

Have you people considered that those "macro miners" may just be afk pilots who have a stopwatch to let them know when their cargo hold is full? And how do you know they are logged on 23/7? Did you have friends take turns keeping watch on suspected macros, to make sure they are under 23/7 surveillance as much as possible so that if they ever log off, you will know?
I for one, think that CCP is doing the best they can to fight macros without risking false positives, which would be unfavorable to them.

I think ajsheudfghfhjd is a macro miner but I'm not sure.

You will look, and then do absolutely nothing. I petitioned 4 characters 3 months ago, all with names taken from the same SF book, all created the same day, all spending their time mining. And they're still there... ------------------------------------------

We look into every petition that is submitted to us, but not every miner is a macrominer! If their names are from a sci-fi book, there's a good chance it's a group of friends (or one person with four accounts!) who just plays quietly.
We don't want macrominers any more than you do, and we will always look into petitions submitted on this (or any other!) topic.
