Pandemic Legion	Posted - 2008.08.02 02:36:00 - [12] Another day, another few hours wasted staring at Stargates that wonÆt activateà Our fleet forms up at around 23:00, and moves towards NDH to protect some friendly POS, but alas when we arrive two jumps out, the enemy fleet outnumbers us 80-40à So we move back to PNQ and start to form a new fleet, eventually we get 75 people and move towards NDH again, but when we get back to B170, the hostile fleet has risen to well over 100, and split between a remote-rep or close-gank gang sat on the in gate, and a sniper fleet off the in gate in 6VDT. Hell, their sniper fleet equals ours, anything else they have is just a bonus! So we sit on either side of the gate, our fleet sets up 160km off, ready to shoot anything that comes in, and their fleets set up in their own positions. At one point, the Pandemic fleet takes down itÆs bubble and look as though they are about to jump in on us, but a couple of minutes pass, and the bubble goes back upà The POS we were going to save have no real value (we didnÆt want them anyway), so for a while, we debated jumping them for the hell of ità They outnumber us three to two, with fighter support, split gangs, and a Titan in jump range just waiting to pounceà Uhà No, we wonÆt jump in on that one thanks! I read a funny comment on CAOD not too long ago that comes to mind when I think about fighting Pandemic Legion: ôWe donÆt blob, you lack numbers!ö Which is actually true! Every time we have come across a PL fleet, they outnumber us, but not in a blobby manner, just enough to tip the scalesà And we all know that in EVE, the force that takes the plunge and activates the stargate first gets hit the hardest by lag, especially when fighting a force like Pandemic Legion today, with 100 ships on the gate, every single one with drones out and fighters, youÆre looking at well over 400 drones there! So we once again return home, and I need to get some beauty sleepà Strangely we did manage to get a few kills, namely one of our Rapiers got himself nicely tackled on the way home the first time and called for help as he got shot be a Falcon and two Ishtarsà We managed to kill one Ishtar and save the Rapier as the others ran away. What we need to do now is get those numbers that we seem to lackà But I can only think, weÆve already been accussed of NAPÆing everyone and their dog, and yet we still lack the numbers to fight Pandemicà What next? Call BoB? :p

I just wanted a fight, tbh. Pandemic Legion	Posted - 2008.08.02 03:50:00 - [26] Quite a strange night last nightà Not a lot of people really knew what was going on, but it all started with the Requiem gang forming up in PNQY in fleet ships, with word of a Pandemic Legion fleet forming up to attack a few of our towers. After a while, our fleet of 50 or so go out looking for Pandemic Legion (fleet of 100-150 plus at least one Titan (Leviathon), 40 Dreads, and a dozen other capitals)à Like I said, at a grunt level, a lot of people were pretty confusedà We manage to grab a Maelstrom somewhere along the wayà Then when we did finally come toe-to-toe with the hostile fleet, our FC quickly called a retreat, and we ran five systems in the opposite direction. We ended up boxed in in 9O-O, where despite being relatively safe bumping around safespots while we were outnumbered 3-1, our FC decided itÆd be a good idea to warp to a gate at 100km and shoot one of the enemy BS. By the time our BS fleet actually came out of warp, the enemy support fleet was already on top of ours, and we were frantically trying to kill their interdictors. I made a few Interceptors bail in my Heretic, took one lucky Taranis in to structure, but my missile skills are somewhat lackingà The target BS finally gets destroyed, and our FC (who was somewhere away from the field) calls a general retreat, after losing half a dozen of our own BS (Final Battle Report). Like I said, a very confusing night from a grunt perspective, but you live you learnà
