Here's quite an interesting site about various end of the world and end of the universe scenarios. The scenario you're talking about is probably the most plausible given current observations. The universe will expand indefinitely without slowing down, and with a fixed amount of energy in an indefinitely expanding volume, the universe will suffer heat death. It will become too cold for any form of life to survive. It will be the ultimate state of entropy, thus rendering all human achievement ultimately pointless. Ah well. __________________________

We use anti-matter with anti-matter containment fields to affect the space-time continuum of course. 
But you're forgetting - antimatter doesn't exist any more. Neither does matter for that matter (see what I did there?). __________________________
