People enjoy "crafting" perfect characters.
Allows us to delete mistakes without compensation. It would have the same waiting period per skill as the character termination procedure.
Thank you

No, due to people whining/petitioning on how they "Accidentally" deleted a skill they want back. --- The Gate: Lol, try targeting me in a fleet fight. The Station: No U. |

Let's delete character trading first and wait and see if this is still "needed".

Edited by: Unkn0wn on 03/08/2008 11:19:40 This has been brought up before, at first i agreed, i like the idea of having a pure character, but on reflection is a bad idea, simply because there is no point getting rid of misspent skill points, it does not harm your char in anyway in having them.
Best options have have seen so far is the ability to hide skills that you do not want to see.

This idea may seem seriously pointless to most people but to those with a touch of OCD having a skill that's only partially completed and not currently being trained can be a burden as long as the character sheet is open. You feel very ill at ease seeing the incomplete progress bar on that skill and until you close the character sheet you'll feel a nigh-on overwhelming compulsion to start training that skill. If I could delete the one day's progress that I made on Caldari Frig 5 before I aborted it and started training other skills then I would.
On that note if I see a glass or bottle or whathaveyou that contains only a small amount of liquid I just have to empty it. I think the principle is kind of the same as with incomplete Eve skills tbh (if you are, you know, insane)
Hmm what else. Oh yeah, character trading sucks, but it's just too funny when a character is bought by a newb with purchased ISK. Mothership pilot who tried to dock at a station to escape his pursuers, anyone? Priceless.

You already can. You go to your class-trainer, then select 'unlearn current skills'. After that you open up the talent-tree window and then...... oh wait..

Age actually means something here in eve, unlike many other MMO's where it comes purely down to player knowledge. Your character gets more experienced through real time training. No power leveling, just time like in real life.
If you start a skill and stop it part way through, you can come back to it later. Thats the whole point of being able to pause it. Wanting to remove skills (and supporting levels) for aesthetic reasons isn't much use. Come up with a practical reason for it and CCP might look into it. - - Department of Defence - Hydra Alliance |
