Hello. Some of my Raven customers keep telling me that switching the link to Raven Navy Issue in chat is an exploit and bannable. Can I get an official answer on this? Thanks for your time.

You should prepare for the following:
Being petitioned People with friends and family at CCP People who ARE gm's (honest!!!1) People who will kill you irl People who will beat you up irl People who could kill/beat you up irl but you're not worth it
and etc, I am still alive and not banned so provided you stick to the EULA you're more of less safe, if in doubt look it up or just petition a GM and ask (i've done that several times).
What you need to stay away from are:
Anything involving rl money in any link (gtc's char/account transfers). Posing as someones alt (you are not permitted to pretend to be an actual person existing in the game, but you can pretend to be an honest carebear of course <3).
Welcome to scamming.

Yup, provide the chatlogs in a petition and they'll be banned for a certain ammount of time. That's what I do, people need to learn to lose graciously .

Yes it is, but I will only petition people in -extreme- cases, a little death treath after i stole billions of isk isn't something I worry about.

the truth in the matter is all scames are not bannable unless the scam is proven to be utalizing something other then in game mechanics (use of third party software for example) as long as you stick with using in game mechanics for example changing the text of a link which can be easily done without a hack of any kind thus makes it perfectly fine just watch out for who you scam :)

The first I heard about Eve was the Eve intergalactic bank scam. In fact, if not for that scam, I probably wouldn't of given Eve a try.
So the scams and such probably helped sell Eve to me.

1. I have never bragged about killing hordes of people 2. I am not a mercenary, well that's not entirely true, I do take private contracts but I don't advertise myself as a mercenary and i'm certainly not available to the general public 3. Scamming is fun
To finish off, you're an idiot.

I fail to see how this qualifies the scammers as 'lame'. They don't MAKE people purchase bogus contracts, and its not their fault if people don't want to take the extra 3 seconds to actually read the contract details - they deserve to lose their ISK.
Imagine an EVE with no scamming: WoWtards would be running rampant and the GMs would all have brain aneurysms trying to keep up with the massive whining.
Scammers, pirates and griefers are the defense against such a horrible fate. So the next time you're scammed, robbed, pirated, sploder'd, can-jacked, griefed or whatever: Thank a pirate --------- War isn't the answer. However, the objective isn't to provide answers rather than eliminate the question. |

Wait wait wait.. let me get this strait.
People actually fall for this? i.e. they will pay the hundreds of millions for a CNR on contract without actually taking the 10 seconds to look at the contract to see if that is what they are buying????

Yeah, I don't do these things though, see, these scams only about 1 out of 20 will work and that's if you're good.
It's quite the grind, but a nice entry level scam for new scammers.

I once made a complete newbie mine me 30 million units of trit in his cruiser, he thought he was mining for his freighter.
He also gave me his bpo collection to produce for him (worth about 5m isk).
I do the odd pro-bono scam, it is my belief that we should not discriminate based on class and wealth, so now and then I also scam the poor just to include them in my gaming expirience, now this will end up in some hilarious situations, it's amazing what people will believe.

If you're dumb enough to fall for a scam by not looking at the contract you're about to spend 450 million isk on, that money is better off with someone else. But seriously, more people should have some type of spacer in their sigs to show it's not part of the post. |

As much as I dislike scamming it is still part of the game non the less. Takes hard work to be a good scammer I would think and if someone spends their time working on something and they succeed then you gotta admit they deserved it. Some people reckon its the worst thing that you could do but I totally disagree, but dont condone it. Dishonoring ransoms and stealing from corp mates is way much worse and its really taking abusing trust to an all time low. Scamming however is more like Jita PvP.
P.S. People that fall for scams should learn by it rather than sit and whine all the time.
