Dear CCP (minus a few, specially TomB in a Moa),
Please make an application bundled with EVE that allows you to easily import and export your settings. I know this can be done manually. But again, this is 2008, not 1988.
Its a small thing a dev can make in an hour or so. And it would save all the users for ALOT of time and effort and anoyance after reinstalls etc.

EVE has a ******ed system of keeping settings in various locations and if you re-install the operating system or even move the folder EVE was installed in then the settings are lost.
Just keep the freaking settings in the game folder like all other normal games.

…and fail spectacularly at supporting modern multi-user OS:es like normal games.
Keeping the settings in the game folder is a horrible idea. They should be kept in the current user's personal settings folder.

What a great idea. If I had an idea for a feature like this, i'd sure take it up on the Features and Ideas section of the forum.
Wait a minute...

EVE should support import of export of settings despite the fact that it can be done manually because settings are very important in EVE, and EVE has a habit of screwing them up.
The settings should be kept in the game folder because to do otherwise is painfully stupid. Support for multiple OS-users is moot since settings are already split by game-user anyway. -

If anything it's more like multi-user OSes fail spectacularly at supporting gamers? Storing game-related stuff in directories that get deleted when you wipe your OS is bad, mkay?
Settings and saves belong in the game directory, not in some shittiass windows directory I delete at least twice per year. And if you are reading this, you have arrived at the signature without noticing...

I've lost savegames on several occasions due to forgetting to back up my Documents and Fail subfolders. My own fault, but also that of game developers too lazy to implement an in-game optional profile system for the 15 or so people out there who actually share their gaming system.
Nothing should even have access outside its own directory unless absolutely necessary tbh. -
