There is a difference between being bitter, and having a genuine dislike for the way you cowards play the game. Don't forget that, its why so many people loathe the NC.
Now, stop posting and DIE (in game)
Judging by the amount of ships lost by NC fighting BoB, the last word I'd use is "coward" when describing NC pilots.
As to blobbing I thought the failed BRUCE alliance was king of the blob. Now it is NC? Never heard about NC being blobbers while Bruce was alive.

Considering your NC age, you should stop posting and go read something like early TRI vs IRON threads from 2006. Sheer amount of lost ships doesn't change fact that incompetence can be hidden behind a blob.

I have to say that I find these to be great attitudes.
All in all, EVE needs conflict to drive change. That's the underlying method to all our madness.

Really dude. It was all cordial and nice. Then we kicked you out so hard that the alliance leader left and the ally itself disbanded. From there on it's been nothing but a very biased tirade against the NC for you and a few others.
If that doesn't qualify as bitter I dunno what will :)
In all honesty, I'd heard things about the NC prior to living in the North. I'd heard you were blobbing cowards who couldn't achieve anything against even minor opponents, without the help of every other alliance in the North. I'd heard you only ever used massive numbers, because you lacked both confidence and skill at playing the game.
But I held back judgement. As you said, things were cordial.
Then you decided it would be 'fun' to bring an 800 man fleet with you to remove what the NC called 'Failsurgency'. In that process, you lost something in the region of 1000 battleships, 50 caps, and a titan. Against a single, relatively new alliance with little in the way of resources. As victories go, it was hollow in the extreme.
Seriously, before the war against TRI/INSRG kicked off, your own leadership (or rather TRI) were all bragging and threatening how they could field combined field fleets of several hundreds of capitals peaking at ~700 total fleet size and would crush all of NC, if we did anything they didn't like.
Guess they couldn't back up their threats and bragging.
With that attitude it was never gonna stay a war against just INSRG, and surprise... it wasn't.

Edited by: TWD on 10/08/2008 10:21:04 The NC is still able to defend one station system if they focus their fleet including capitals in that system. However, that leaves pretty much all other (station) systems open for attacks.
They are pretty good at keeping numbers up, even after big losses.
The biggest losses (pretty much battleships and below) against the NC have been to titans in cynojammed systems. We've taken down between 20 and 30 cynojammers.
The NC is reluctant to defend a system once the jammer is down, and the few attempts from their side have been unsuccesful. Maybe this will change and they'll surprise us.
The lack of experience of the NC FC's is quite noticable especially in capital fights, but that's because capital fights have been mostly happening in the south. This might improve over time. |

I said TRI leadership, duh. For INSRG leadership claiming stuff like that you will only have to look at the all the wonderful propaganda op announcement posts on INSRG forum where your dear leader was announcing they were expecting to field capfleets of like 300 people combined with TRI and other allies and were gonna crush everything in their path.
Fred0 also doesn't need to tell me stuff, I've been reading the chatlogs and have rarely seen pieces of as much utter arrogance as what INSRG/TRI leadership were saying before this war kicked off.

with the currently state of sov and the size of both attacker and defender. this war is not about space. its about influence. (MAX was right, surprisingly)
NC can lose all of its space, which mind you.. is pretty huge and is going to take a long time to siege down unless all of them just disband. and still be a threat to BoB.
and quite frankly. i cannot see BoB running POSes in 7 regions again.
however, what really really drives me away from major conflicts like these are
1 Lag. 2 Metagaming. while it is a completely legit way of playing the game. from the grunt level, i can say that 100% of us do not enjoy being a victim of it. while we love to have it on our side. this leads to some ethical and moral issues which will only lead to flame war. 3 blobing, it is the only way to win.. lagging, and especially lagging. no FC will say no if somebody X up with an suitable ship for the op. and it is generally a bad idea to engage a fleet thats bigger than yours in size(all else factors disregarded). 4 POS, it is never fun to shoot/rep them. I have cap toons, siege POS is THE most boring thing ever. and repping one is equally so.
most of us pay to have fun in game. not have our day ruined because somebody decides it is fun for them to order an system siege/PoS take down/Rotating on a gate for hours.
just my 2iskes I sell, I buy, I survive |
