I know many of you have cats as pets.
Some of you, as I, like to let then enjoy the outside world.
Where I live, you can get a fine if your cat is offleash, and caught roaming.
Please though, make sure you have the proper coller for your pet, cat or dog .
My cat, Tye, 3.8 years old, been on a leash for virtually its entire life, broke his body leash 2 days ago. I went to the store to get a new leash for him, and as he wanted outside badly, the wife and I decided to just let him out in the backyard with the rope just attacked to his coller.
" no harm in that, for an hour: I thought, " hes a smart cat"
And he was, trained to use the toilet, to flush it, loved to fetch, was such a boy in oh so many ways, he was the best friend I could ever have.... unconditional love....
Got home, gave the new body coller to the wife so she could go put it on..... 2 mins later heard her screaming, ran outside to see my little buddy hanging there off the deck, dead.
Tried CPR, heart massage, everything, 10 mins later I had to face the fact that my cat was dead, and that It was my fault.
I am so heartbroken, I loved Tye more than I love most my family, and I would spare you the grief I am going thru right now by this small message.
Anyways , there it is.
Love your pets, take care of the the best you can, and for god's sake don't make a casual assumption everything will be fine, because life and death likes to kick you in the balls when you least expect it.
rest in peace Tye...

Sad and a little creepy all at once.
Fortunate for me though where I live my pets don't need a leash or collar and are allowed to roam where ever they want. I may put a harness on one of the horses when I let them out to mow the lawn but that's about it.

I tried it on my little cat once. Several scars later I decided it's not worth it for some animals.

Sorry to hear about your kitty, dude.
A friend of mine lost a dog, several years back, in a similar fashion. She lived on a house-boat in a secluded marina. Had to leash the doggie when she wasn't there; came back from a dash to the shops and her dog had fallen off the edge, paddled water for as long as he could, and finally drowned.
Accidents happen. I know that's no consolation for your loss, but sometimes that's just the way it is. |

oh man, I am really sorry about your loss.
Personally, I don't believe in using a collar etc. on a cat, because of the risk of this sort of thing happening. Cats tend to go into places that dogs can't or wouldn't dream of going.

LOL at people thinking the toilet flushing suicide cat is a true story.
At least a part of this is drawn from the cat in Meet the Parents.
Also, only strange people put cats on leads, it is contrary to their nature. Cats are not the pet they are looking for. -

And the guy filming this wondered previously why his water bill was jumping up, lol.
They have toilet shaped litter boxes that are used to train cats to use the toilet, then it is just a matter of time and the cat on wether or not they will flush the toilet.

I see. So if I make a hammed up post stating that I put a blower on a 1973 XB GT Ford Falcon Coupe and then wrecked it then it wouldn't be true because it was in a movie once?
I should probably write it in basic english as well to add to the effect.

Yes. You would never write a hammed up post about a true (sad) event. Unless, of course, you were trying to make it sound like a fake intentionally, which is a double bluff and thus reverses the conclusion. -

While I find the part about the CPR and other medical procedures a bit far strung it is still believable because I know they have classes for that crap and people can actually be that nutty.
I know cats can be trained to use the toilet as well although the fetch is bit far flung as cats don't tend to act all simple minded like dogs. But that's not to say you still can't do it.
Admittedly this came out directly after TX's dead hamster post which could be part of the reason for the act but it could also be that the guy saw the TX post and wanted to post his own. I also noticed you lol'd in the TX post which leads me to believe that you probably think that one is fake also.
I can also note that the wording in a way tells me that english is not his native language which may lead one to think it is fake.
Unfortunately everything posted on the internet is fake in todays world even if it is real because someone says it is fake, therefore it must be. Some people think this is real and it may very well be even as far fetched as it is, and some will believe it is a troll.

All accepted. Consider this though. While this story is unlikely in and of itself, how likely is it that it actually happened, and that the person it actually happened to is an EVE player (unlikely), and is an EVE player who posts on the forums (even more unlikely), and one who happens to post it in a way that is fakeish (what), just after another similar serious post (come on...)?

I'd say 50-50 for any real/fake video, blog, or whatever. Unless he posts creepy pics of a now post mortum cat and shows crime scene evidence we can only speculate. Most of the time it's up to the reader and what they believe. Some don't believe shit, then theres shining.
Originally by: Crumplecorn , and that the person it actually happened to is an EVE player (unlikely)
I don't understand this part personaly. I mean the guys gotta have an acount to post here in the first place which would make him an eve player (unless this is like a little brother who got a hold of the password.)
I personally own a dog, 2 cats, and 7 horses and any number of strange things can happen to them. Hell in the last 2 years alone the dog has been hit by a car, eaten a concentrated bar of rat poison, dug up and killed a rock chuck, been bitten by multiple snakes, tried jumping from the jeep at 50 mph, and skunked 3 times.
My older cat has gone through his 9 lives and was forced to mug other cats of their lives. One instance was my dad and I driving to CJ Strike one day for some fishing. Turns out the cat had climbed into the boat while we were prepping. We were almost to the reservoir when he decided to leap from the bow of the boat onto the spare tire of the trooper while on the highway. We stopped rather quickly, grabbed him, took him the rest of the way and threw him back in the boat for a day of fishing. I ask you do you think it's fake or not.
Originally by: Crumplecorn , and is an EVE player who posts on the forums (even more unlikely)
Eve players posting on Eve forums. Madness I tell you. Honestly though, I haven't looked at his post history yet so I don't know what his mentallity is like. Could be every post is a pathetic troll post like Fabians or maybe it was some random thing. Guess I should check on that.
Originally by: Crumplecorn , and one who happens to post it in a way that is fakeish (what), just after another similar serious post (come on...)?
Fake for some, real for others. As I said, it's up to the reader to decide as every video, blog, and 'other' item I see on the internet has at least one person yelling fake.
As for similiar posts well that's common for OOPE. I see favorite video games, favorite movies, favorite music, favorite cars, Computer part threads galore, US hate threads a plenty. Similiar is common in OOPE.
A better example would be GE. How many nerfs whine threads do they have currently that sounds similiar?

I don't understand this part personaly.
Of all the people in the world this could happen to, the EVE players in that group are probably a tiny minority. Out of those, the ones who actually post on the forums are even fewer, and so on.

True but like I said maybe he saw TX's post and decided to write one himself. We've seen cases where one post turns into a week long meme.
I've heard acounts myself of dogs hanging themselves but never a cat.
I did a check into his post history though and it looks like he's a GD regular who just browsed through OOPE one day and decided to make a off the wall post.

So is the conclusion that it is in fact most likely a fictional story? -
