Are there any universally recognized 0.0 space "supermalls"?
I am looking to get an escorted corp convoy into 0.0 for a big shopping trip, and we are not entirely sure where to go for the best one stop shopping.
Thanks for any suggestions.

I would strongly advise you to contact the authority of each region you wish to do business so you can arrange a pass or be told not to come.

why? everything is going to be more expensive than empire. If you just want to lose money I have a good deal for you. You send me 5bil then I send you 3bil back, deal? (this is a win win situation, you lose 2bil without having to spend time going into 0.0 and I get more money for replacement ships) ____________________________________________________ Reality is for those who have no imagination. |

Are there not some products that are of limited or no availability in empire?
Not sure why the thought of moving an armed convoy in to procure difficult to acquire items is such a shocking proposition, but ok.

No
There are things found there...smart people fly them into empire so they can sell them.

now if you were talking about moving stuff from empire to 0.0 that would be an entirely different thing and actually profitable. ____________________________________________________ Reality is for those who have no imagination. |

there are simply some items that are difficult or impossible to find in empire. We wanted some. But apparently asking for help in locating selling points is too much in these forums. No problem.

You should take the advice given here. NBSI is standard in 0.0 and they'll have intel on you way before you get to where you wanna go. Even if you make it to your destination...getting out will be even more difficult.
Good luck though. |

I don't know these days. ISS used to do that stuff. The responses you're getting are due to the naive/unresearched nature of the question. You may feel like you're doing research by asking others, but as they've pointed out. You need to know what you're after first, and what the margins etc are for going after it. For instance, there is no point going all the way out to deep 0.0 for certain items if that alliance's logistics train is already bringing it all into Jita regularly anyway. If the alliance does not have a logistics train bringing it in, maybe it is because they cannot guarantee their own pilots safe passage.
Also, marketable items/mins/whatever are only available in their specific regions. Asking for *any* super mall is blatantly stating that you don't really know what you're after.
So we come back to the golden rule of MD. Asking other traders for specific trade advice will result in you either being ignored or mocked/scammed/deceived. Personally I have no experience in the matter and the only advice I can give you is to ask RPers (because what you want to do is less about profit and more about poetry) or see if you can hunt down some old ISS pilots who might be in the know. |

Thanks CornerStoner and Vuxacha for the helpful responses.
Yes in my mind I was specifically thinking of the old ISSO outposts. Since there don't seem to be any real identifiable equivalents today it does seem too risky a trip for the limited convenience, and probably would have been even if such locations still existed. And establishing travel rights would probably have been a prohibitively costly (in both isk and time) affair. I guess we'll just keep hoping to catch what we want as they filter into empire in small numbers.
As to the rest of you less than helpful individuals, don't forget to empty your ****socks. Some of you seem a bit socially constipated.

Too many people on these forums derive their self worth entirely from their EVE alter egos, building themselves up by mocking the inexperienced. It's not my problem some of the posters in this thread havn't seen the sun in 5 years.

Yeah you're right, and Jita is not too far away and usually has what we need.
Anyhow perhaps I wrote thread starter in a bit much of a light hearted manner, but really the question was "are there useful trade hubs outside of empire". It is apparently a crime to still be learning the ins and outs of this game.
Thanks to those that tried to share some wisdom without being total jackasses about it. And to the rest of you, get some sunlight. You need it.

I think the biggest problem with guys like you, and the reason the MD "crowd" tends to be a bit harsh, is that you come here with a question without having thought about it or done any research on your own. One thing you should know, since you are new, is that guys like you and the guys with stupid scam attempts are a dime a dozen. We have to deal with them everyday over and over and over and over. This does create a problem when someone such as yourself posts a neutral yet in my opinion stupid question. We may be a bit harsh at times but there is a reason, its not personal, you aren't special, there were many before you, there will be many after you. In closing, I've moved on and so should you.

Edited by: Katrar on 09/08/2008 06:12:06 It's unfortunate that your "crowd" feels justified in such intense condemnation of the learning process and questions asked on the forums. But whatever, my fundamental question, the one that was not easily answered by my own search attempts, has been answered. To those that saw fit to help without being an ass, thanks from a player still early in the learning curve, I appreciate it.

I'm talking to the OP but using AC155's post as jump off points while doing so. ^^^ This. OP: Interesting though, you accuse us (the d-patrol as you call it) of needing sunlight yet you don't have any friends (In Eve) with sufficient knowledge to keep you form asking silly questions. There are plenty of public channels that veterans sit in for the sole purpose of sharing knowledge & advice. I know as I regularly burp rookies and would have no problem helping you out, via in game mediums. Originally by: Amarr Citizen 155 We may be a bit harsh at times but there is a reason, its not personal, you aren't special, there were many before you, there will be many after you.
OP: This is where, me thinks, you went into treacherous areas. You need to ignore people that you don't care for until you learn how to riposte properly. Throwing a tantrum and tossing your own thread around like a ragdoll only encourages the trolling. Also you need to realize that some people who sound hostile, usually myself, are just gruff from having answered the same question over and over again (or being trolled over the same subject over and over again via anonymous alts). Our attitudes are not so much as RTFM as it is "Damn have to help someone who is most likely to be an ungrateful ass". You strike me as one of those ungrateful types already so I'm truly baffled as to why I'm bothering to school you... even this little bit. Originally by: Amarr Citizen 155 In closing, I've moved on and so should you.
OP: You need to lose your thin skin and prejudices if you want to be known as anything other than an annoyance. You are a newb, we don't have a problem with it so please get over it on your own. You are going to ask newb questions, they will be called newb and you will be called a newb. Again get over it. Perhaps, in time, you'll be someone worth our attention. I do not discount the possibility as you are obviously trying but for right now you are just being annoying in your self righteousness.

This may be related in a round about way. There any areas in 0.0 that are NRDS, currently? (not red don't shoot, for those on the learning curve)
Since you're looking for rares, yes, even if you could find a dock, you'd find the item jacked. There is though the option of fishing for the rat.
If the space is NRDS, getting it for free may be worth your risk in assembling a safari. Remember to pack a covop to try and run the trophy out.
Hope that is helpful.

That too is good to know. I had been under the impression that there were numerous things that were found (and sold) almost exclusively in lowsec, from parts to ships. Now knowing that I was incorrect, I don't mind as much tending to highsec hub market orders.

Edited by: Lubimchik on 09/08/2008 07:40:03 Ok dude, I can answer your question even though it has already kind of been answered, I can also offer you a decent explanation of why people here are the way they are.
Anything in 0.0 that is found that might be valuable, is either kept by the person that found the item, and sold by them, or jumped to empire to be sold there.
Most 0.0 alliances have jump freighters or at least carriers to move goods in and out of the system. It is almost a requirement to not be "Trapped" in 0.0, further more most of them keep a couple corps around just for the industry side of things.
Jita, imo will and always will be the place to find anything you want in eve. Sense most 0.0 pilots are not familiar with the trading hubs or the market in general they just take anything there they want to sell to jita and sell it off. Though they do more buying then selling generally.
They were right in the fact that you probably would not make it out with goods that you found there, and that's if you could even dock in the stations. Really it would just be a loss, for the most part the biggest armed convey you could probably bring with you would fall rather quickly to a 0.0 alliance on their home turf. A lot of these guys can field 100 battleships and 20 capitals like it wasn't shit and your presence with arms would be a big threat to them.
Now if you were wanting to find stuff in that came from 0.0 and did not want to go to jita, with a bit of smarts and a little bit of luck, you could easly find the "drop off and pick up" point of the 0.0 alliance in question.
Which is where the 0.0 pilot will jump his carrier/JF into (normally high sec for protection, though if its a carrier it has to be low sec) and then transfer goods there to a freighter or hauler, and rather often if they are lazy they will just put them up for sale. This is both a good place to find some 0.0 goods.. not that there are many, as well as make a bit of cash too, if what the alliance is looking for is right there in that system, at a decent price then why would they fly that freighter to jita for things like fuel, mins, ammo, and various other goods? So let that flop around inside of your mind a bit and see if you cant make it work for you, for buying or selling.
Now the reason that people are the way they are here, well there is a couple of reasons.
First off you are dealing with pretty smart dudes here... they are not your average eve player, and even though your average eve player tends to be more mature and smart then say the average WoW player. These dudes are the top of the chain when it comes to brains. So they don't deal well with what might appear to be a question that was not fully thought through. I feel your question while it was a bit silly, and perhaps naive, was a decent one for a newer player. Though I would say a days worth of searching and talking to people in the various chat channels of eve would have yielded you better results and a lot less flames.
The second reason is that these guys are a tight nitch group, people are have worked very hard for their reps and everyone starts out at the bottom. It does not matter if you are the best combat pilot, or a wiz with the trade system. Here you build a rep and what you say and do weighs on you at all times!
So in the future, just think a little more about what your asking and kind of look into it a bit first before you jump on the forums and start asking questions. You will not be received well in any forum thread for it, most of all in the MD thread though!
Good luck and fly safe!
P.S. DO NOT WONDER INTO 0.0 WITH OUT BEING BLUE TO THE CONTROLLING ALLIANCE, CHANCES ARE YOU WOULD NOT EVEN MAKE IT PAST THE FIRST GATE AS IT IS DEFENTLY CAMPED, THOUGH IF YOU DO, YOU WONT MAKE IT MUCH FURTHER!!!!

Research is the key friend. An hour in the search box of the eve website can save you a life time of headaches, billions of isk, and lots of scars from flames.
Its no problem man, I ruffled a few feathers when I first got here as well.... I came from C&P where its all "Wowz, lawlz, and omgz". I caught on rather quickly, and realized that shit didn't fly here. So I am just kind of passing the knowledge along thats all.

In general, it's best to figure out the politics first, and make sure that there is somewhere that (a) you can dock (most outposts will not let you), and (b) not be hunted at every turn. Providence has a fairly friendly policy, for instance, as well as outposts you can dock at.
Gatecamps are way nastier in null sec, so get yourself a scout and check map kills, especially at bottleneck systems. You may wish to read up on gatecamp jumping, and use a covert ops ship for small volume trade. at least to begin with, while you learn the area. You'll want bookmarks all over: Bookmarks for undocking; Bookmarks near gates; Bookmarks in the middle of nowhere for safe spots. If being hunted, keep moving, as you can be found and warped to in well under a minute by a skills covops pilot. Don't warp gate-to-gate when there are players in system, as they might have placed warp bubbles.
As far as trade items are concerned, named t1 goods that are not dropped by local rats sell well. I have also had some luck with items like ammo blueprints. Salvage and expensive minerals also tend to do well. However, some of the best deals I've found have been on the regional contract markets. Scan through and see if there's a real bargain that you can easily ship out. And, obviously, research research research.
Good luck,

These dudes are the top of the chain when it comes to brains.
Having wiped the coffee from my monitor screen...
I'm sorry, but there is a small minority of noisy miscreants in this forum who do not deserve this sort of excuse making (unless we are excusing them from suffering from some kind of autism).
Nothing forces anyone to reply to any posts in any internet forum; the normal chain of events is that stupid questions go un-answered. Being condescending isn't a public service although I've seen a few posts that seem to be arguing along those lines. To the OP: sadly my advice if you're trying to do some research or canvas opinions is not bother doing it in here- you're better off in-game
What a shame, eh ?

Mmm, perhaps. Though I still stand by what I said. Thank you though for enlightening me on these things.
