Okay I am so happy you're fixing the dram, buffing dreads, and nerfing super carriers. But there is a very big question on everybody's mind. What about the Gallente? This poor race has been the redheaded step child for far too long. The thing that really sealed the Gallente's fate was when warp jammers starrted to affect MWD's. This made it absolutely impossible to get within range to shoot anyhing. Not to mention that the damage from gallente is confinded to two elements, the damage modifier is the weakes of them all!

A while ago, CCP put a picture of their 00 whiteboard thoughts up and made a dev blog about it. Can we please just get some idea of what you have in mind? Will Hybrids become their own weapons platform? Or wil their dronme capabilities be greatly increased? Please give us a bone, I'm dieing over here!

I don't really think thats a big thing. I fly all the friggates cause they are different. When you start to amass skill points, you just kinda do more than fly your race.

It isn't just rail tracking that sucks. Every other long range weapon is superior to the rail in every way. Be it dmg, tracking, or range.

Oh for sure, I just detest flying a ship that only has one truly solid damage type (Not counting Drones) and No range to speak of for pvp. While I would like to fly Gallente ships more often I just don't see a point to it when they are as useless as they are now.

well, it's not really an issue of fixed damage types. amarr has it too and it doesn't have that many problems in melting hulls.

the issue is much more complex than just range issues or just fixed damage types.

 frigates are fine tho.

Oh Im well aware that Amarr has the same issue, its that the two Amarr DMG types work to two slight gaps in resistances on ships.

not that much of an issue, considering they are fine at shooting stuff.

hybrids have many issues, but damage type is either quite minor or nearly inconsequential in comparison.

If memory serves, CCP Soundwave talked about this point at the Las Vegas get together. He said, (heavy paraphrasing here) that if they buff Gallente, the same issue will creep up in another races ships. Following this line of reasoning, it gives little cause or motivation for them to "buff" Gallente ships in a way that we might be thinking.

(Warning Speculation here), So I believe that instead of propagating the same cycle with out end, they are taking a different approach. The first step of this approach was the announcement that CCP Tallest Will hence forth be the Ship balancing Guru! and from there, CCP Tallest said that we will be stating with the small ships and logi.

Would like to get a confirm from the horse's mouth on this (Ahum CCP Soundwave)

 I fly Minmatar ships...

The problem with Gallente buff or improvements is that the clamoring for it is based on more weapons power. I've been in blaster ranges of Megathrons and had ships peeled like bananas for that.

The real buff for Gallente could come better from more tanking capability or non-stacking of webs speed penalties. I would imagine that a stab to cut vulnerability to scram and increase MWD reliability could be expected to work, but you'll be crawling anyway and the sniper/missile ships will take you apart before you get close enough.

Might as well go "all drone boat" and put small turrets on large ships (like an aircraft carrier).

Altering database variables takes over a year. The numbers need to be hand-crafted and lowered into the Gibson by a complicated series of pulleys. Actually, wait, no, even that would only take maybe a week.

Hmmm. It's almost as if CCP suck.
