If a ship has no bonuses to tracking or any other factors that effect tracking, What is the best tracking turret based weapon in the game?

Probably the 75mm gattling AC. __________________________________________

I believe it are the smallest autocannons for each class, eg. 75mm dor small, dual 180mm for med and dual 425mm for large.

mm, small ac on a saber have the highest base ingame, however the best tracking for the range are pluses, highest damage too - if you ignore the drawbacks of the ships they go on ***The EVE servers and their patches*** |

Tachyons track slightly better than 425mm's, about 10 - 12.5%.

Best tracking I've been able to come up with (in EFT) using only T2 gear is 2.03084 using a Sabre fit as follows:
125mm AC II (RF EMP) 4x TC II 2x TE II 2x Proj Tracking rigs
I'll see if I can import the latest data feed so I can order by tracking

so your saying that the biggest long range ammar bs gun has better tracking than the shortest range (and presumably best tracking) minmatar gun? I can't get ingame to check either.

Yes. Only.
On another point, aren't you people forgetting blasters for comparison?

It's been awhile since i checked...back when amarr turrets got +25% tracking...but I think AC's have best and blasters are right after them and then pulses are considerably worse.

I assumed that one would compare weapons of the same class, therefore was correct.

That's about spectacular tracking. Too bad the optimal range is . . . short so you'll STILL get missed shots. On the other hand - if it's in range you'll be able to hit it no matter WHAT speed it's flying at as far as any realistic scenario goes.
The Thrasher seems to be able to net higher tracking (2.08 and change) but it still suffers from that 1 km optimal 5km falloff. I guess neither fit is really useful unless you really hope something blunders into your range.

smartbombs do well against orbiting drones or just fly away and the drones will follow you and unless your ship is very very slow not be able to orbit properly.

In general, the best tracking in the game will be any short range turret on a destroyer. Other cases may exceed this, but it's generally true. -------------------- "I am hard pressed on my right; my centre is giving way; situation excellent; I am attacking." - Ferdinand Foch at the Battle of the Marne |
