No problem, but I figure most people don't carry tens of billions in liquid cash even if they have the money. This gives prospective buyers a chance to convert without rushing it and losing money.

I have them, where it counts. It never mattered enough in blobfests to bother with on Arenis. If whoever buys the character wants to ignore the capital focus and go small scale, then its something to do.

As for this, liquidating and consolidating down to one account. The third character I have will go up on Oct 1st.

Monday bump. Out of curiosity, I'd like to hear a response on the following:
If bidding gets high, have a 1bil ISK retainer that is returned whether you win or lose (covered by GM-grade insurance policy), making it easier to legitimize any bids.

Bid increments are 0.5b, if you want to revise yours.
I notice some people are ignoring my request for no ingame offers. The idiots who suggested cash transfers have been ridiculed and petitioned. I'm also going to request a GM clear any funds that get sent to me as a result of the auction or otherwise, to ensure safe and fair transaction.

Sure thing Viper. I didn't think anyone serious on winning was going to have a bidding war two weeks in advance, but thanks for the interest.
Last valid bid is by Mia Archer at 31b. The two posters after will have to revise to meet auction rules (no buyouts, 0.5b increments).

Originally by: trading hub what is the possibility that there is a group of ppl who are actually fueling the price for this char, by continuously out bidding genuine bidders ?
Even though I do accept that this is a marvelous char, however this sale if unprecedented (i havent seen a similar char for sale ever), hence it is difficult to say what is "fair" value of this char
In any case I think this will be fun to watch ! )
Well, I have nothing to do with any of the bidders in this thread, and alt/ingame posts are banned. I also suggested if people are worried about artificial bids, that I can take retainers that will force any jokers to put up or shut up. Additionally, you can wardec and settle any beefs ingame ;)
Although I fully expected this character to reach 40b easily. Most of the 70m+ characters I've seen for sale have gone for 30-35, and have been pretty damn near useless. Just adding the 5b isk Titan skill puts you in the range of 40b.
Remember you can always make more isk, but it'll never put you ahead of the game like this. You're paying for not only raw skillpoint advantage, but a hardcore commitment to specialization that's been upheld perfectly for four years. Isk is infinite, and if you're good at making it, this might only represent a few months of work.
If it reaches obscene levels, I'll do what I can to make sure its the most interested parties bidding.

Edited by: DigitalCommunist on 25/08/2008 17:39:54 0.5b is the minimum increment. If you want to go higher to "save time", go ahead. This rule simply ensures a more open and competitive auction.
Someone might not be able to jump your bid by 5b, but they might be able to with 0.5b. It prevents the auction from ending with whoever bid themselves into a price point between absurdity and affordability
edit: hungdra has current top bid at 45b.

Well gentlemen, it's not like you can do anything remotely interesting with 50b. The game is more fun when losses have meaning and desires can become goals. I already have as much in liquid assets, and I've burned a magnitude more.
FW was going to be my third re-purposing of this character after its original role expired. If I had play time, I wouldn't be selling just yet, but I'm not going to babysit a bunch of characters for an indefinite amount of time.
Ironically enough, if I ever spend the isk the best investment would be another pimp character. Maybe Minmatar next time, Amarr is way too overpowered for me.
TurBo has top bid at 51b.

Ok, the price is going to start being a factor even for serious bidders now, and there is only one decent security measure I can take to prevent false bid inflation.
No further bids will be accepted without a 5 billion ISK security deposit. Do NOT send it to Arenis, send it to DigitalCommunist ONLY.
Send it from the character you are bidding with.
I will post screenshots from my wallet to support any forum bids as legit, and will be looking at API sites/apps that will prove it further via FULL API key.
1. All security deposits will be returned at the end of the auction, not before. 2. A GM will be monitoring my wallet for terrorists and eula violators, screw around at your peril. 3. Your money is safe under the 'no scams' clause for character sales, I will ask for GM to confirm it.
If you are interested in bidding on the last day of the auction, you do not need to send anything right now. As long as I have proof of your interest five minutes before you make an offer, the offer becomes valid.
Lets see if we can put a price on God Mode... Good luck.

Correct, that wasn't an 80bil bid TurBo, you still have it at 70bil
Also remember no new bids are valid without security deposit. A person can say whatever they want, but current bidders should wait until I confirm it as valid before deciding to bid or pull out.

Originally by: Mmm Insane Appart from the titan related skill. Which are very good. this chara would not sell over 30b. so are we saying the titan skills are woth 35b here
70mil skill point character and raw skill value alone puts you at 40b. The rest is a premium for the kind of specialization that makes efficient use of what skillpoints you do have. If you buy a 70mil skill point character that can fly everything, what you're really getting is a 30mil skillpoint character for every situation.
That might be great as a small scale PVP char, but I already have one of those (me). That's why you see so many capital skills on Arenis, I've been training them since he had about 20mil skillpoints. All that is before you take into account maxed Titan status, which lets you skip a half a year. Then price goes up even more from demand because such characters get auctioned exactly never.
You probably see high sp chars selling for ~35b because most of the people with more ISK already have one or two or four characters which are just as good or far better. Most of the buyers are probably people whose wallets outgrew their skillpoints, and they want to leapfrog ahead. But here, every single person with big money has an investment that is not going to get worse with time.

There are fewer examples to go by, but the characters I saw were averaging 33bil at 70mil and had no specialization or focus. Then add 6-7bil worth of capital skills that I have and others don't and you get about 40bil.

The current highest bid is Viper at 65b, followed by Mia Archer at 61b.
Auction still ends this Sunday, account expires five days later. Provided there's a down payment, I will accept payment at any point before the account expires.
Further bids are still subject to a security deposit.

Reread pg 4 Endo. Viper dropped from auction on page 3 when I didn't reveal the reserve ingame, and then jumped back in. It didn't matter the first time, but now there is a 5bil security deposit.

You can't scam in character auctions. Its in the auction rules and everybody knows it.
I'm trying to get a GM to say it just to put people at ease, but it took a while to get a response even in the 'Character Transfers' category. Then the response I got misunderstood what I meant.
Even if you could scam, you wouldn't need Chribba to trust me. I never dun nuthin wrong.

Down to one day, and yes, the reserve has been met. Character is in NPC corp now.
GM confirmed that security deposits are not scammable, and explicitly stated they would return return them if I failed to. There's still a communication issue, and I don't think the GM realizes I only want a public statement confirming it.
Hopefully they'll do it by tomorrow, but if you're worried I might be lying, I will be happy to provide screenshots to anybody making the request. I can't post them here because it would be breaking forum rules.
Thank you for the interest.
