Why would you want to? Skills are either common (starting schools) or should be rare (like Jump Drive Operations).

Sergio, as far as i am aware, it is not active yet within the game.
Outof Mysights, you asked why??? I buy the Galente Cruiser skill for 500,000. copy it ten times and sell it for 300,000...
Why would i NOT want to be able to copy skills..... Big Cash once that comes in.
Another option, is buy a skill, then copy it for the rest of the corp... ---------------- ~= Askari =~

So is that what the 'Duplicate' function of a lab is _supposed_ to be for?

You need to get the RE skill first apparently - the devs are saying its in the game somewhere but no one has reported finding it yet

devs = developers. As far as copying skills go, id copy skill sfor the corp AND sell em off.

o great. that makes sense.
The rarest, hardest to find, most wanted skill in the game and pirates are carrying it around in a ships cargo hold.
super.

You need nmemonics skill to be able to copy skills. As far as I know this is not in the game at the momment and even if you do find it then it probably doesn't work.

I doubt copying skills would make a great deal of cash, except for very rare skills.
If it was possible to copy skills a lot of people would do it and the market would drop (note I'm not saying it would crash or anything like that) in the same way as the ship market.
As copying would presumably only take up time (no mineral needed) and a slot the price for copied skills would drop to the price-point that reflects the time needed to copy - i.e. not very much.
Copying skills would be handy for in-corp use though, it could presumably save millions.

only a retard would let the price dro so low. You sell things at the best price you can get for them. I'd be surprised to see copied skills going for less than 80% NPC.
And you'd only need one rare skill to become especially rich. Imagine, for instance, that you found a mnemonics skill and a rev eng skill. *everybody* wants rev eng. You could probably ask 500 Mill each for the first few, and still get it.
If I were in the above position, I would make the copies, but not sell them for a couple of weeks while I lvl5'd my own. *then* I can see the reults, and hold the universes highest ticket auction ever.
You only need to get rich once. .

The same thing was said about the manufactured items market and look at the market now. Same thing will happen with the skills market once copying gets in. When you see something you want, just be patient and wait a couple days longer and the price will drop 10-20%. Everyones so desperate to sell and get the fast buck that they will keep lowering the prices till someone buys.

Drunken Master,
100% agreed. hell, 1,000,000% agreed.
I would do a sealed bid auction. Highest secret bid gets it... ---------------- ~= Askari =~

well, what about the mnemonics description - it is supposed to copy memory engrams. Since it isnt implemented, it is just another skill wasting parts of your characters development at the moment. Before you post your angry reply, consider the following: if only the combat skills are well developed in the game, but the industrial, scientific, trade and all other skill areas are lacking the game becomes unbalanced - where the pilot or figther character is complete and ready to go. No skills he/she has to wait for to be implemented.

quoting DrunkenMaster: only a retard would let the price dro so low. You sell things at the best price you can get for them. I'd be surprised to see copied skills going for less than 80% NPC. -----------------
Thorax cruisers go for less than 60% NPC price and they have a basic mineral cost associated. Some people will happily sell for a few 100k profit.
If skill copying has no ISK or mineral price people will be able to give them away and all they have 'lost' is the time of copying.
I grant you that if you were to find an rare skill then you could make a killing but if many people had the option to copy widely available skills the price would crash within a few days.
Does this make people retarded?
