Edited by: Jaketh Ivanes on 12/08/2008 21:25:20 If you realy want people in low sec, then don't blow them up the second they enter.
If low sec was pro*****ble, people would be there, but the pirates a very good at making low sec unpro*****ble. Even if you lowered the rewards in high-sec by 70%, it would probably still be more pro*****ble then low sec missioning.
Same goes for moving lvl 4 agents to low sec.
Yes yes, bring a frined, have a scout, cloak and tab the scanner every 25 seconds. But not all would want to do that.
As a basic reply to the "get more peopel in low sec (so i can shoot them )" is, go to null sec and shoot some alliance members there. You'll actually get a good fight.

If low sec was profitable, people would be there, but the pirates a very good at making low sec unprofitable. Even if you lowered the rewards in high-sec by 70%, it would probably still be more profitable then low sec missioning.

Problem with low-sec is that it's considered the bastard child of null sec. Create new content (so it's profitable) and keep cultivating it as the alliance free outlaw zone and there will be a lot of people there.

Well, the pirates are the friends of the NPC's. That's why they kill those pesky mission runners
You may want to reconsider your logic...
Ok, how are Pirates the friends of the NPCs? I look it for the point of view that the Pirates are a rival Pirate faction to the NPCs(invading on their Turf), and thus normally Red, the Mission Runners are Actually Neutrals contracting for a Red, thus not actually coming up Red to the NPCs, so in true NBSI fashion you shoot and kill Reds before Neutrals.

They most likely would. Some of them I mean. Altho I'm afraid that more people would quit over that than did over carrier 'rebalancing' as agents are one of main isk fauchets in game and as it currently stands PvE and PvP setups do not compute resulting in heavy disadvantage for 'PvE' setup ship in 'PvP' situation. Nobody likes to be victim over and over again. At least no normal person.
Well organized entities would move to low sec agents being able to fend off some casual pirate gangs of approx 5 ships or so while solo players would shift to mining or quit.
You're right on both counts. The "PvE only" player isn't going to go to low-sec and be a gank target, unless the rewards are so high that he can laugh off losing a CNR a week.
Even if you succeeded in luring more missioners to low-sec, that would just lure more gankers to low-sec, it would become less attractive, and you'd be back where you started, namely with nobody in low-sec but pirates.

Originally by: Foulque That's the whole point. Current High sec missioning is a solo game in what is meant to be an mmo.
mmo does not need to mean forced grouping to do anything in the game. mmo just means there are a lot of people in the same world who are able to interact with to the extent they wish and are able to.
Mmo's should also encourage teamwork and effort. Instead the teamwork and effort needed to stay safe in low sec compared to high sec is rewarded by lower rewards.
So nerf high sec mission rewards in about half of what it is today. Soloers and those that only want to sit in high sec can still do their thing, and the lower rewards dont really matter as its not like they need much isk anyway. Vote against the nano nerf! |

If you lose a CNR every week you are not a PVE only player but an idiot that refuses to learn. Vote against the nano nerf! |
