Many gankers, pirates, and others are upset by the recent changes in EVE. I suggest that you leave the carebears behind and travel to Zero Sec and form new power blocs. Why let Band of Brothers, Goonswarm, Red Alliance, Tau Ceti Federation, and Interstellar Alcohol Conglomerate get all the glory? Zero Sec is where all the fun is! _________________

In 0.0 you have to know how to PvP. In Empire you have to know how to gank.
Big difference. |

In 0.0 you have to do PvE to make cash, because fleet fights don't exactly pay the bills, making a pure PvP lifestyle hardly possible.

A lot of being 'fed up with losec' is because it's being turned into some type of WoW battlegrounds. I like FW, I really do. Great idea, and it's not really what I'm harping on.
What bothers me is the mentality that's being spread amongst a bunch of new players who live exclusively in hisec that the game can be split between a PvE and a PvP side. This is ignorant, of course, because nulsec requires a LOT of both in order to survive. But this whole idea of 'go to losec if you want to fight' makes me feel like players are refusing to accept that this is a PvP and PvE game, all the way across the board.
Go to losec if your bored in hisec or you want to make real money in Empire. Go to losec if you have a small corp or are six months old, get your PvP wings as you learn how to operate in hostile territory. Go to losec because hisec is boring and you can't make much money there.
That's what I want to see again. Go to losec because it's the natural progression of a player from 'work' in hisec, to 'living' in losec. But that's just my opinion.
So you want security? That's perfectly alright. But you should be willing to trade freedom and profit for that security. |

TO live in 0.0 requires your ability to do fleet battles or get kicked out.
You want to wait 40 minutes for your launcher to update that you fired a shot due to the crippling lag in 0.0 fleet battles?
The Lag in 0.0 means titans are win. You can decimate a lagged out fleet with a few titans. If you are on the receiving end, you think "WTF is this shit?"
Lag is what has killed blob warfare from being fun and turned it into a powerpoint slideshow.

Since EvE is (supposed to be) a PvP game, why not move to a PvE game. That's where the good raids are!

Because said gankers are cowards and can't fight against other pvp ships. They have to hide behind an insurance system in order to have some risk-free runs on highsec bears with their pve fits. The'd lose horribly against pvp ships of equal numbers. Pirates who didn't use that exploits, won't have any reason to move anywhere, since they are not affected by the changes.

Because Highsec pirates prefer to PvP while taking no risk at all (PvP fitted ship vs PvE fitted ship) and protected by CONCORD rules?
Maybe they are too yellow to risk their tech 2 Battleship where CONCORD could not protect them?
The most funny part it's how they hate Carebears, and that exactly what they are... Carebear pirates...

No. You're doing it wrong. The gankers, pirates etc want the carebears moved out of hisec and into losec. They don't want to go to 0.0 themselves or have the carbears go to 0.0 and join big Alliances.
Some of them are so horrified that they can't get CCP to force carebears into becoming their next victims they will actually wish that all the carebears leave Eve for another game.
Some ,selfishly, call for drastic changes and the complete destruction of another players game style just because it improves theirs.
Many of them are under the delusion that they know what's best for the game. Some are bitter because they thought CCPs vision for Eve was the same as theirs and, due to a nerf to suicide ganking, have had their noses put out of joint because ,quite clearly, they were wrong.
Now with a nerf to war decs upcoming they are even more irate.
In order to preserve Eve as a PvP game CCP must spoon feed them victims or all of Eve will die. If this does not happen and they can't force CCP into driving victims towards them then all potential victims should cancel their subs

or did I miss something in your post ?
As I was saying, it's the bums who want to force PvP combat out of hisec.
Thinking that all combat players are griefers is about as ignorant as thinking that all NPC players are bums. That was the point of my tirade. You may want to disarm any argument that you don't agree with by assigning it to 'another griefer whine', but many of us believe the hisec is grossly imbalanced with losec and nulsec.
The mentality is based off the idea that EvE can be two separate, unrelated games. It's not. It's mixed all the way from 1.0 to the lowest 0.0. Players compete against players. Corporations compete against corporations. Etc.
I'm currently in hisec carebearing, have been for awhile, because it would be FOOLISH of me to make money anywhere else, especially since I'm not a member of any nulsec alliance. The security and profit margins are simply too high, compared to anything else.
And, personally, I think it's simply players exploiting the system in order to remain untouchable. Many view that any aggression towards this is 'griefing'. EvE simply doesn't function like that, though there ARE griefers. Using NPC corporations is an exploit, in my opinion, especially if your only reason is to avoid combat with other players, players whom you are competing against each day by using the market, mining, etc.
Going into losec is not just about going for PvP. The fact that many want to make the game reflect that mentality is wrong to me. PvP is everywhere. Going into losec should be about risking yourself to make more isk and to do what can't be done in hisec.
So you want security? That's perfectly alright. But you should be willing to trade freedom and profit for that security. |

you mean make it like 0.0 ? means lowsec is a myth still ...
if you make the rewards too good, pirates will turn bears :-) and alliances will invade losec. if you make it ballanced, 0.0 will still be better just for the added alliance protection.
there should be some middle ground sov in losec so you can build your own infrastructure yet you still answer to the empires ... --- SIG --- CSM: your support is needed ! |
