If a pilot self-destructs do they get a loss mail?
I was in Jita about 30mins ago and after geting a war targets freighter into structure he set off his self-destruct.
I always let people get the killmail if they are able to kill me and would not self-destruct my ship.

Maybe he had other things to do other then wait around while you killed him?

Edit: OP no there is no loss mail... it's a CCP sanctioned tactic like logging after jumping through a gate to clear a aggro timer

You were killing a WT freighter, and when it self destructed, you were upset about.... the killmail of all things?
Screw the KM, whine that you should get the lewtz instead.

i prefer it when they just log, i was in an astarte, him in a freighter, he logged as i got a point on him, he had 4 friendlys in system, prob did not even know he was in trouble due to logging so fast, boom :)

OP, glad to know you let people get your loot and a killmail, but don't assume a holier-than-thou attitude. Self-destruct isn't exactly against the EULA, and I wouldn't hesitate to do just that just to peeve the "victor". |

Self destruct is a valid tactic as it deprives your enemy of valuable gear/cargo which may help their war effort. If you know you're going to die, self destruct. It's the last blow you can strike at your enemy before you die.

What if you were wasting this guys time. Maybe all he wanted to do is get his ship to the next system, dock up then turn some **** on and spit the magic dragon? You were forcing him to play longer then he wanted, so he set SD.
