Ok,
I just wanted to give a random mention to the fact that currently 1 Warp core stabalizer stops the effect of a +1 point.
After the patch i wonder if X2 Warp Core Stabalizers should stop the effect of the +2 Warp Distruptor and allow ships to MWD.
I believe this should be so, as its in the spirit of EvE that everything has counters.
Now..,
Firstly with X2 stabs your renders totally combat ineffective, so i doubt it could be that abusable.
But with the web nerf a duel stabbed vagga could possibly be invunerable to tackle(unless they had mutliple +2 points on them?)
But again, wudnt it be funny if ppl find a way around the x2 stabs penalty with sensor boosters/singal amps & we end up back with ***gastababonds? :D

By logic you are right. Apart from that two 24 km warp disruptors should actually also shut down the MWD.
However, I think such logic does not apply, which is a pity as the whole background explanation of the modules is getting more and more inconsistent with the announced speed nerf.

This might actually make the Lachesis and Arazu quite useful since they usually pack a few disruptors. Shutting MWD's down at 50km, even more faction fitted 
But we all know CCP won't allow that to happen.

Not as I had things in mind.
Now 1 point strenght (disruptor) = only warp scrambled / MWD ON 2 points strenght (scrambler) = warp scrambled / MWD OFF.
So to put it in another way. MWD has a tolerance of 1 point warp scramble before it shuts off
Some interesting results...
- Blockade runners are immune to both warp scramble and MWD shut off. They need 3 points to be warp scrambled, and 4 points to shut off their MWD.
- Fitting 2 warp disruptors (24km range) also shuts down MWD, since it gives same warp scramble strengh as warp scrambler 2 points

There was dev comment about it few days ago. Apparently mwd shutoff is not 'point based' but 'module based' meaning that 2 point scram will shut down blocade runner's mwd even if the ship is still able to warp with that 2 points on him.
Apparently it's intended that way.

The difference is in the module type, not the warp scramble strengths.
Scrambler, by definition are scrambling the entire warp engines, thus blocking both MWD and Warp.
Disruptors are only interfering with the warp engines, thus blocking the Warp, but not the MWD's.
Adding stabs will allow you to warp out (if you overcome the scrammer str as per usual), but it will not safeguard the MWD. The scramblers still screw up the system making the MWD unable to activate.
Wether this is logical, fair, makes sense or whatnot... I guess everyone has a different opinion on that.
But as it stands,
Scramblers - MWD dead, No Warp. Disruptors - MWD active, No Warp. Stabilizers - Counters scramblers when it comes to Warp, but not MWD. -------------------------------------------------- "Every complex problem has a solution which is easy, neat and wrong!" |

This. I saw the same dev comment. No matter how stabbed you are, your mwd turns off.

Got it. Didnt knew that.
And also no matter how many disruptors you have on a ship his MWD doesnt turn off!
