I spent my 18th birthday (23 now) tripping balls on acid in my backyard from 9pm till 6am the next day. I was wearing nothing but jeans, a white t-shirt, and socks. My birthday is January 1st. I got caught by my Mum and she screamed at me for an hour until I finally came back to reality and could stop muttering about writing a message to heaven in the dirt road near my house, or about how I couldn't feel my legs because they weren't mine.
Yeah, those were the days. I was invincible. Then I moved to Boston, hooked up with a stripper and had a baby.

I just turned 37. I got NO presents, NO party, NO cake, NO NADA. I work over 40 hours a week and make just barely over the US national average income. With that income I have to pay a mortgage, a car lease and various credit card and utility bills. I have not one, but TWO Special-needs children (which cost about 2-3 times as much to raise as average children due to extra medical and therapy bills) and a wife who constantly whines that we don't have enough money left over for her to get a boob-job for her flat self!
Please tell me how hard your carefree, 18 year old "nothing to do but study, drink, sex up beautiful buxom young women and party" lifestyle is because you didn't get pressies this year AND your parents actually want you to MAKE something of yourself. I think I may have to play "cry me a river" on the world's smallest violin!
Boo-freak-itty-freaking-hoo!
Now shut up, ya ungrateful little punk.
take online clases in any spare time that you have, get certified for somthing, get a better job, quit crying about a situation that you probably put yourself into (and if not then folow the steps above and get into a much beter job)
I did not get a hint of crying, just a nice dose of reality check for an 18 y/o complaining that they might not get a gift for their birthday. How bout we say something along the lines of, how about you trying to live in a genocide filled country and then cry because you did not get a birthday present.
Calling this guy out and saying he probably put himself in the situation is just ignorant. You do know that there is research out that is pointing to certain vaccinations in certain kids causing developmental dissabilities like Autism You have no clue of his situation, on the other hand we have a clear idea of the OP's situation.

nah i prefer to be an ignorant arrogant bastard
To each their own , but there was nothing arrogant about your statement

When I turned 18 we were broke and my parents didn't even have the money to buy drinks and I had 25 Guilders (old Dutch currency) so I went out, bought drinks, crisps, chocolate and whatever I could afford. It wasn't fantastic, it wasn't spectacular and I certainly didn't impress anyone with my great wealth but I will never forget that day because it was the best birthday I have ever had. It was so much fun and we laughed and laughed. Simply fantastic.
Now I have a good job, a great wage and am not poor anymore but I still remember that day with great fondness and joy because my friends still talked about the party when I was at Uni.
So while you while about the card you got on your birthday there are people like Bish Ounen who have a pretty hard life.
Bish if you want a new approach to life and a big twist and a new start contact me in game. Farjung is my God |

I smashed the back of my head open on ice on my sister's 7th birthday, don't you know that's gonna traumatize her. I didn't cry from it but she cried enough for both of us. Most of my birthdays have been pretty solid and enjoyable with my family, and I'm pretty grateful for the parents I have after reading this thread. But seriously, more people should have some type of spacer in their sigs to show it's not part of the post.

My Birthdays were too boring so for every birthday since my 22st I pick a direction and disappear for a week in the woods.

I never got anything for my 18th either. Mind you, I never got anything for any of my birthdays. Nor did I ever get anything for Christmas. Or any of my exams.
I did however, get an easter egg once.
