People as an exile from Jumpgate do not underestimate the power of Nerfs. The invincible (PC) pirate ship with ultimate weapons and untouchable speed should be the nightmare of you all. Unbalanced Powerups will kill this game if the balancing is not got right. I applaud CCP for their balls in nerfing where appropriate and upgrading where due, well done boys and keep up the good work :D

Agreed.
All I see is griping about nerfs and how much it's going to ruin the game, how many people are going to leave Eve, etc. etc.
My Thorax recently got a 3rd med slot, and some other things were enhanced.
I was sad to see the MWD get nerfed, but I can live with it since I know it's for the purpose of a more balanced experience in Eve.
Good job guys!

Good Job !
Don't bother about all those people whining cause they only whine because their favourite exploit got fixed or their imbalanced ship (they just bought because it was obviously imbalanced) got nerfed.
The Game will only benefit from a more balanced environment.

I tell you what it is:
The majority of the players out there are players of just average talent. These players get their ass handed to them by the minority better players. The majority average players obviously pay the majority of CCP's bill and profit.
So who are they going to listen to?
It is nothing about balance. It is simply about appeasment of the less the talented whiners out there nothing more.
BTW - the speed nerf(s) just makes it exceptionally easy to kill someone now and make long distance travel rediculous.
IMO of coarse.

The wretch you're a moron if you think there is any skill in a 5 second cruiser fight.
There is more luck then skill in finding a game imbalence, and there is no way CCP ever intended comabt to be over that fast with tech lvl 1 weapons.

Two of MoOs omen cruisers double teamed me in a bestower solo. I took a beating a lot longer then 5 seconds and survived on top of that. I wonder how I ever survived......
Maybe I used game mechanics to my survival advantage just as they used the to try to win battles.
Some items were out of controll and needed to be fixed since they were not working as intended. But my greatest fear is that this company is going to start needlessly nerfing everything in sight. And why should they not do this? After all, the majority of the customer base complains about balance all the time instead of important issues such as game content and dynamic.

I sign the last post...
First u have to think of what is imbalance... If u take a first look nothing. because everyone can use the same things inGame.. But take a second look. A game like eve should give more options than a best design or best combi or best ship. Before the patch a ship was an MWP and weaponupgrades blast a 1000 point shield in one shoot. do u think that is right? this ship comes in fires mwps out and the second comes in and take the rest with other ammunition.. not really a chance for the attacked player.
there are many items i think that should be a bit nerfed or a bit raised.
I try to give u a clue what imbalance means.... Think of an indi *g* that requires skill lvl 1 and has on skill lvl 3 about 4050 cargo units speed at 125. 4 med, 4 low slots. Then cmpare with the next best ship available (imho) with skill lvl 3: 3250 cargo no benefit from the ship in combination with the skill.. 115 speed. 3 med 3 low.
So tell me is this an imbalance or just something where u can say hey i can buy that skill and ship... it is no imbalance everyone can fly it...
Imho an imbalance is something that gives u a big bonus at no or minimal malus without any reason for using something else instead of this item / ship or what so ever.
CCP need to do nerfing and raising items. So that there is no item with that u equipped are unstoppable until u find someone who has the same equipment and is a tik faster than u :).
hope u guys understand what i am ¦trying to say

No, that's not true at all. I think CCP has seemed extremely good so far about sticking true to their vision of the game instead of pandering to whiners. (One exception might be their interference with m0o's Mara blockade, which I think should have been left alone, or responded to more subtly by increasing the sec status to 0.5.)
Take the weapons upgrade nerf for example. Those things were sickeningly, disgustingly overpowered. And I say that as somebody who never died because of them, but used 4 of the best kind to kill many people WAY too easily. I killed a cruiser in under 5 seconds--how sick is that? That nerf was necessary.
And I think that the microwarpdrive nerf was something that upset the majority population. It made it a lot harder for them to get away from attackers now. Casual "average" players faced by a well outfitted pirate now don't have much of a chance--they HAVE to know their stuff to survive, and if they do, they're not casual "average" players anymore. :) Perfect example of CCP upsetting a lot of people in order to stick to a wise vision of what the gameplay should be like. ___________________________________________

I think CCP are doing the right thing with balancing the game - an umbalanced combination of equipment which can do over 1000 damamge in a single shot does not make for a good game.
Now there is nothing wrong with research into finding the best combination of weapons, I dont think anyone can deny that the Moo really did their homework before setting out on their little blockade. Weather this research makes them the "Talented players" mentioned in this thread is open to debate.
However it was plainly clear that for vairous reasons the weapons/equipment combination used by the Moo was far too powerful, as demonstrated by their ability to sit in Mara (the EVE equivilent of the M1) for 3 days and murder anyone trying to pass throught the system.
So thumbs up to CCP for spotting the problem and fixing it. Hopfully it will lead to a more blananced game.
