Hi,
For those of you in to collecting large stocks of bpos, I have a new site up which allows you to keep track of your prints.

If anyone happens to be using Konqueror on linux, I would love to know how accessing the site goes.

Just a quick note for those of you who were expecting to see the entire list of 950+ blueprints upon clicking list.pl:
The generated HTML for a request such as that would be in excess of 200 kb. Because of this I decided to limit how many bpos can be displayed using their categories. At least then with each request the generated HTML is something more palatable, i.e, between 15 and 30 kb.

I have over 200 bpos, and am collecting many more. I needed a way to list them all as I bought them, and then a way to quickly update the ME PE values.
If you're not into research in the same way then you probably won't see it as useful.
I plan to add many more features over the coming months. One planned feature is a personal manifest for moon scanning/pos setup info.
If you have any ideas for useful features, let me know.

If you mean run it at /localhost/, then, sure, I'll see about putting all the files together and some instructions on how to get it running with minimal fuss.

Well, the captcha is to stop people from refreshing the list page repeatedly. This can quickly eat up my 100gb bandwidth, since each request can be as much as 30 k.
Sorry if it annoys you, but i have to protect against automated registration bots, or dos bots et cetera.

PS once you are logged in and have displayed a category of prints on the list page, you no longer have to type in the captcha, since adding blueprints from that point on is handled by dynamic AJAX requests...try it!

Making it as a standalone program is a good idea. I may try that at some stage. I've only ever made DOS programs with C++ though...:p

well i'll just stick too exel.. im am sure it is nice for others.. but i just said i did not like it.. sure i ubderstand about auto reg bots or what ever they are called... but to put those in everytimeu switch group is annoying when u are putting in 2-300 bps..
still dont understand why u have it after ppl registrated..
why not make it as an stand alone program?
Well it's either a captcha or some form of IP tracker that limits how often you can refresh the list page. The list page is bandwidth intensive with each request averaging 30 kilobytes.
To allow repeated refreshes of that particular page is downright silly.

If you are that concerned with bandwidth are you compressing the pages before you send them down the pipe?
For me after I run a search I'm unable to "add all" or click on the ME/PE cells. I'm using Firefox 2.

The "add all" function is not implemented yet. I'm working on it.
Hmm...I have tested the app in Firefox 2, and it ought to work fine. The only problems i've had with the ME/PE function is in Opera and IE 6/7. And that was something to do with a regular expression not working properly.
Were you definitely logged in before clicking the cell? I know this may seem obvious, but you can't click the ME cells when not logged in; nor can you click the cells before adding the blueprint.
You may have expected the bp to be added automatically when a ME/PE cell was clicked, but I haven't got the patience to implement that kind of functionality yet. |

I'm considering using full blown AJAX to minimize the data sent from server to client; If I require users to log on before using the list, I can then remove the captcha altogether.
God idea or not?
