I don't really care. It all just seems a bit hypocritical to me. Quite a few people were saying, "you shouldn't be able to buy something unbalanced" during the nano-nerf debates. But in this context it's different because it's a bit mindboggling how much is spent?
Bah. As I said, I don't care about titans. It's not a subject for me to comment on since I have no experience with them. However, it seems wrong in principle to argue one direction in regards to topic A, then do a 180 and argue from the complete oposite side for topic B.

That amount of damage? Sure.
As an alpha strike? No.
We need to get Titans into the middle of fights and start seeing them lost at a more prodigious rate, otherwise we'll be ass-deep in them by this time next year and they'll grind sov-wars to a stalemate.
Make it so that they can't DD through their own shields. They have to be into armor, then they can DD. The DD should be a "I'm taking damage" last resort kind of weapon, not a blast-and-run chicken-shit kinda thing.
Give them more offensive capability. Let them get in there shredding suppport and dreds alike and when they get primaried and their shields are down THEN bust out the DD.

Actually I think their damage is a bit low. I think they should do their standard damage on the grid in system they are in and at the same time they should hit every undocked ship anywhere in jita for the same damage.

EXACLTY! If the cost and time to train were considered void and invalid argumetns to defend the nanos then they cannto ever again be called upon to defend anything else!
BAlance is somethign that cannot be done with double standard, otherwise by definition, its not balance! ------------------------------------------------- If brute force doesn't solve your problem... you are not using enough

The basic premise of thread is still stupid.
Any AOE weapon system has theoretically unlimited alpha strike.

Takes far longer to make a pilot for one than to build one, but I get your drift.

First off the whole argument that the prevention of Titans is because they are getting so expensive that appears to be wearing off as more and more alliances are getting their own titans, and the larger ones get lots of titans. I am in favor of the Titans being able to every ten minutes do something like the death star with a massive alpha to just one ship. This way they would become anti-dread and carrier weapons (though i guess if you were really evil there is always that blue jump freighter ) Also to the person that said titans have amazing alpha with bad dps, consider this: I did the simple math and came up with that figuring a titan has a dps of 7mil as stated in the beginning of this post, they have a dps of about 2000. Not half bad. But I digress titans need to be adjusted, soon everyone and their cat will have one

Really... should one player be able to cause this amount of damage with one shot?

Is it ok for one player to do upto or possibly over 7.25 million damage in a moment.
Would a ship of similar requirements be ok if it did 7.25 million damage to one target?
As usual for this kind of questions, it is based on incorrect assumptions, in this example
72.500 HP damage against 100 targets is equal to 7.25 damage in one shot
while mathematically correct, it is not equivalent in game terms.
7.25 million hp damage unresisted, will kill any ship, 72.500 hp, resisted, have trouble killing a BS with a good tank and high hp buffer

The problem with DD's is firing 20 off consecutively, not one every hour like they were originally thought to do.
