I've been playing with BS fits and am very pleased with the flexibility afforded there. I'd like to see some of that versatility available on a capital scale:
-Afterburners and MWD. Would make visiting the old POS much less annoying. Give carriers, motherships, and titans the ability to dodge dreadnaught's siege mode fire unless webbed.
-Neuts and NOS. I'm a big can of cap warfare and it is plainly missing from capital ships.
-Motherships have capital class ECM. What about paint, sensor damps, and tracking disruptors?
-Capital Cap Boosters. Can't have Capital Neut / Nos without a counter. This would also be awesome for multiple jump trips.
-T2 components, ammo. Add the usually pluses and minuses. Give us a reason to spend months training those lvl 10,12,14 skills to V.
In general, it seems that Carriers and Motherships are the most versatile of the capital ships. Dreads and Titans seem to be very focused in their design. I think that tends to promote cookie cutter setups. -- Flame on. |

I like everything but the dodging dreads part.
Cap ships are flying cities. They shouldn't have much capacity for evasive maneuvers -So says Xindi Kraid

and god help anyone who opens the can. - PvPers always say "GB2WoW". the message is that EVE is hard, and people just need to deal with it. wasn't it funny how when nano's started making it hard for *them*, that all went out the window? |

NOS wont even work on cap ships following the nerf since cap ships have WAY more cap than noncaps -So says Xindi Kraid

You'd be turning caps into "big BSes". They shouldn't be. If they become "big BSes" everyone will fly them and there won't be much reason for BSes in the game anymore.
The "dog fighting" should be at the support level. Cap ships should do pretty much what they do, which is massive tank / massive DPS / support (in the case of carriers and moms).

I was thinking more along the lines of capital ships using NOS on other capital ships.

I don't know. The MWD penalty would be pretty harsh on a capital ship. A MWD / AB would take up a valuable mid slot that would otherwise hold a cap recharger. I was thinking something along the lines of a top speed of 150 m/s for AB and 400 - 500 m/s for the MWD. Very easy to pin down. And the acceleration / turning time would be god awfully slow. |

Well, that's exactly what the Moros is. I see lots of people not flying it. Most people in fact. I'd just like to see more variety in the fittings and fielding of them. Cap ships are too focused in their roles. Consequently, the fits are cookie cutter. There doesn't seem to be much strategy to the capital fleet fielding (for the cap ships, the smaller ships are still awesome). Unless you are going up against a capital ship pilot that has no idea what he's doing, it is very easy to predict what he'll have fit, what he is capable of, etc. |

Right now, by slightly gimping a tank setup you can change a carrier to a buffer setup and fly it at over 600m/s with BS size officer MWD, your MWD would mean 400 to 500 m/s without a gimp setup, now think of this, poly rigs and overdrives, that stupid thing wont need cepters to fighter bomb, it will be going over 2k/s. Not a good Idea, or we might see tri doing the nano titain thing again, only this time, it might work well. |

capital ships online?
carrier is already thought of as just the next step up from the bs we don't need to make the problem worse. |

The entire purpose of a cap ship is to fill a specific role on the battlefield. They're not meant to be a jack of all trades, they're meant to be the uncontested masters of their role -- and they are. |
