I played EVE fine for the last 4 months, off and on, nothing daily. Then, about 2 weeks ago. I tried logging on after a 2 week break. I clicked on the EVE Shortcut, got the splash screen, then it dissapeared and that was all. The splash screen dissapeared and the client wouldn't start, nothing would show up in the toolbar, it was like I had never tried starting it up. So I unistalled it, and tried reinstalling it earlier today (Premium Graphics), still have the same problem. Whether I start the client normally, or in safe-mode, it goes to the splash screen. Then disappears and thats all.
Thanks in advance! -X

I've had this problem as well. I havent been able to log in for a few days, very frustrating. A few others on the forum are having the same problem, and it doesn't seem like anything is helping. Harumph!

Edited by: The Trevolutionary on 18/08/2008 16:54:13 I've been having trouble finding the cache. I've followed the instructions on how to clear your cache CCP has on it's website, and it seems like my install organized eve files on my system very differently. I run Eve through Steam by the way, and with Vista. Thanks for the help

To be honest, I don't think steam is supposed to do anything different other then just offering the installer through their application, but I haven't tried it myself yet. Your cache should still be located under "C:\Users\*account name*\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE". They did change something though, apparently you now have a folder per installation, but it's safe to delete everything inside that folder. You might want to delete everything except settings first to see if that fixes it while keeping your own settings, if that doesn't work I suggest you delete the settings map too. |

Cache/Settings locations are different depending on your OS:
2000/XP C:\documents and settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE\client_folder_location Vista C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\client_folder_location
You also will want to check your installation folder to be sure there isn't one there as well (older installs).
