Crystal Ball says 2009 probably around winter after a summer expansion adds in more trinity content, there have been content of planetary stuff every fanfest since that video. last one was great with a caldari tank and some atmospheric fighters. Eve art book also has abotu 4 pages on the same topic. So eve-onground is comming soon (tm)
remember crystal ball is mostly foggy and can only give results of something thats probabable. |

Introducing planetary flight as a side-game where players can fight each other in an atmosphere is so monumentally cheap and pointless, not to mention a waste of time and resources, that it would seriously degrade CCP's reputation in my eyes. That's just one person's opinion, but I expect a lot of the people who make a game that has traditionally expected so much from its players.
im my opinion adding this to eve would open up a new level of fleet warfare. You could deploy snoop scan probes in the atmoshpere and hide your forces there. When the enemy gets close enough to the planet to plex or something or just regroup you can open a massive volley on em after warping to them. |

I'm looking forward to the game moving in this direction. My only concern is that it might alter the nature of the EvE player base. I doubt there are very many kids (<15) playing this game. If CCP introduces avatar PvP, it might in fact attract the same low quality players found in all of the other MMos. |

Ahaha, have you seen CAOD lately? I doubt the player base mentality can sink any lower. |

why would you want something on the horizon, again? afaik, the horizon is asymptotic, you only get close, but never quite touch it.
You're really weird
Hey, let's face the facts here, it is a bit strange for someone with your appearance to go chewing the fat like that |

I think peoples like you ruin the game more, because if it have been up to you to decide what's gonna be in this game, this would been a Drake / Raven Online or Carebear Online instead of EVE Online.
And lols at you for saying hahaha it's a space mmo, it's not a planet mmo. What the hell do you think the space have?, mmmmmmmm hamsters?, mmmmm cars?, mmmmmm or maybe planets?.
Wow, your so dumb it's actually funny.
Just be ****ing happy that CCP are developing this game more.
totally agree, i don't understand what all these naysayers get out of being so negative.

Why don't you cancel your 7 accounts over it?
TBH what's there to ruin? EVE is so basic and mindless atm it's ridiculous. 90% of fights are fought sitting on Stargates. Combat is way too static - The tactics are the same. There's little or no tactical variation as far as combat environment goes; it's all just open space.
Change is a good thing. Atmospheric flight, along with the long-awaited Tactical Environments would, if implemented properly, do so much good for EVE it's almost shocking we don't have it yet.

<sarcasm> Any additions whatsoever to the game would ruin it. This game should remain exactly as it was at launch. </sarcasm>

I'm to say that they've been thinking about it for at least 4 years, since they debuted the first planetary flight vids at the first Fanfest.
