Sadly, that image is as true as it gets... Also, it was probably us + NC that caused the lag... |

This is pretty much on par for eve, of course according to CCP , There isnĘt any lag and if anything is not working properly it is your computer or your ISP. ItĘs getting close to unplayable.

I've just reactivated my acc after a while, is it like this every day? I had to wait over 20 seconds for a simple crystal swap in my lasers, it takes about 5 seconds for any other command. |

I have the same issues, it takes me around 18 sec. to get market details on an item with only 40 in local channel
All other members in corp have no lag, so if this continues I'll have to change my career to mining |

Well, it's been ridicoulusly (can't spell that) laggy lately.
Balance is important, but you will always adapt to changing circumstances and you don't whine about stuff you can't change. |

Same. And if I try to get market details on an item in warp everything just freezes up. This has been getting progressively worse.

This is not a typical day in EVE these days, unless you live in Jita.
Took me ten attempts to even log on (I tried different accounts), as the login would time out. Character selection took around 20 sec to show the pictures. I guess I will be very careful and only do shopping today - at least we will not notice the Jita lag that much.
I agree that it could be a network issue, as while my tracerts show a ping time of consistently below 70 ms, I see around 20% of packet loss in a telia.net node, when looking at it for more than just a few seconds.

Excessive lag will be the reason why this game will fail. It's just getting really bad to the point that there is no reason to log in on Sundays anymore.
Need for Speed patch, needs to be put in place.....now.

I lost a 150 million ISK Domi in Vylade on Sunday because of my client's performance. This game has sooo much potential, but it's really getting unplayable. I was so mad about the amount of time it's going to take me to recoup my Domi I nearly quit.
PLEASE, CCP, do something!

I was going to write a long-winded post, but key points surrounding this are as follows.
1. "OOH SHINY" and other game "enhancements" gets new players in the door our accounts re-activated, but you won't retain any them with the exception of the hard-core "Enthusiasts" (And that will dwindle over time) 2. Epic performance issues like I've experienced over this weekend and some weeks prior makes me think "Would I keep a cellphone contract that I would only use on M-F from 1AM-6AM? otherwise, I'm going to have crappy/dropped connections and/or being unable to connect?" 3. "Move to 0.0" is not a valid response for any fight in 0.0 other than ganking results in performance issues as well, or you're stuck on a node sharing CPU time with some Lvl4 Mission hub. Quite simply you can't avoid it.
Long story short is CCP is running out of excuses. Perhaps CCP should lock away your OOH SHINY Marketing folks for a period of time and actually spend development, and planning resources towards correcting the performance issues. And not just 1 thing per launch cycle which assumably keeps the current issues status quo to support the load of their next OOH SHINY!

How can I recommend friends to play this game when something as fundamental as LAG hasn't even been addressed? For the amount of time EVE has been out, CCP you should be bloody embarrassed that this is even an issue.

Edited by: PrimalFear on 01/09/2008 06:07:26 This has been an ongoing problem for a long time along with people not being able to log into the game. I've been playing this game on and off for the past five years and never EVER had a problem playing till the recent installment of patches and expansions. The game is almost unplayable as CCP is failing to adress the issues by avodiing such threads or replying with none sense like ping plotter. I have not yet once seen any replies on the issues with people useing ping plotter or any progress on the situation. |

same story with LONDON servers delay from Russia... germany, amsterdam, London - HUGE ping... sometimes forums and eve become unreachable, blame LONDON servers |
