Well today i was in the loft and i found a nvidia geforce 6200 i had no idea i had this but it is brand new it was shrink w****d so brand new so i took out my nvidia geforce fx5700.
And i know the 6200 has shader model 3.0 and its on the supported cards list here: http://support.eve-online.com/Pages/KB/Article.aspx?id=5
so i figured why not give Premium graphics ago so i did and when i first opend eve the backround of the planet and titans and stuff was gone it was a big black screen with with empyrean age on it but it was all lumpy and and strange so i proceeded to log in got in charcter select was normal but when i got in game i was docked in a caldari station.
and the lights that go up and down your ship the beams where not there is was big black strips moving up and down my ship.
so i undocked and the back of my ships i had black lines coming from the back and otherpeoples ships had it to and the planets WHERE HUGE!!! the covered my hole screen.
ao i warped to a stargate and what i saw was a big black box spinning round the gate and when some one jumped what should be the blue beam shooting off was a big black beam.
so you get the picture...
some info i can give you
- reinstalled windows XP about 1 week 3days ago and its xp pro SP2
-Drivers are up to date.
- i have removed the drivers and reinstalled them
and thats all i can think of as of now please HELP!
oh and normal graphics works fine. |

Have you tried reinstalling eve? The patching/installation may have gone wrong.
And what are you're complete system spec? |

i have not tryed reinstallinjg eve i will try tho and my specs are well kinda olds but :
2.8ghz CPU
2048mb of RAM
Nvidia Geforce 6200
1 X 80gb hdd 1X 20gb hdd
i dont know the motherboard but its a dell optiplex gx260 |

well the 6200 is complete trash, plain and simple... it is worse than the integrated graphics options from the past year.
but that only means it is slow, and will work with single-digit FPS, not that it will be causing you such glitches.
what resolution are you playing at? try lower. turn down other effects as well. definitely don't even think about HDR.
have you tried turning off premium graphics and is it still glitchy?
cleared cache? or cleared the eve folder from your "%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP" folder?
these are all things that you should've tried by yourself and mentioned in your post already...
"drivers are up to date" ... and how do you know that if you don't even know the motherboard chipset? if you are using the mobo drivers from some CD that came with your PC, they are surely *ancient*. even if you downloaded something newer from dell, there is still a good chance its not the latest available from the chipset manufacturer.
even your windows is not up to date... SP2? why doesn't it auto-update itself to SP3?
and there is probably an older version of directx with it, and i'm not sure if that would update itself with windows update... so get the latest redistributable from MS manually.
you should keep an eye on your GPU temperature from the nvidia control panel, maybe your card is overheating? eve does that to cards, a lot. you can reduce the core and memory frequencies from that same control panel and see if it stops glitching (even though that will make it slower).
other than that, maybe the card is defective and its unrelated to eve. are you getting similar problems in other stressing games or benchmarks, like 3dmark? |

sounds like either your shading chip may be damged?broken or the firmware is old or damged first try to reinstall/update your firmware make sure the firmware is right for your make and model check the names on the main chip as somtimes they will change halfway through runs go to the producers website and download the firmware and install

I GOT A CHIPSET UPDATE FROM THE DELL WEBSITE AND IT WORKED!!!!!!!!!!

Ok...
For those of us who are confused by nVidia card numbers:
Digit 1 = Series
Digit 2 = Model in series.
with only one step between series (e.g. from 5x00 to 6x00) the higher series card usually performs WORSE than one from the lower series if the Model number is lower.
E.G. a 9600 can be slower than an 8800.
this isn't always true but for really low model numbers (200, 500) it almost always is.
