Well, Sansha's (succubus, phantasm, nightmare) is a caldari/amarr combo with a 100% laser damage bonus. Its basically a faction marauder.
The Angel ships (dramiel, cynabal, macariel) are... a minmatar/gallente combo which gets a rate of fire, damage and tracking bonus to projectiles
um.. I forget the others.. The blood raider ships have extended range for webbers and neuts/nos's which is bangin' for pvp.. and not much else. Bad choice, given their pricetag.
and the serpentis ships have a something bonus and a hybrid damage buff and a reduction in mwd something.. Which is useless in deadspace unless theres some sort of bookmark workaround.
So the angel ships and sansha ships are the best! Id hate to pvp in a faction ship. Because theyre so unique and expensive, I feel its like going off-roading in a ferrari. |

Blod Raider Ships are not realy worth under the BS(fare less as other Faction Ships). Mostly by the bad Slot Layout, the sucking Damage, no Dronebays and the Powergrid(for real Ashimue is a wonderful looking Cruiser with stunning Boni but fails in neraly any other area hard).
Serpentis Ships got changed some time ago, Cap Bonus is in affect even without a MWD giving them 25% more Cap. Other Boni are Tracking and Damage wihile Damage Bonus is fixed at 25%.
I like PVP in Factionships, because it¦s a bit more special than T2. |

No one else seemed to mention that Amarr is the only other race that has almost zero missile and zero shield tanking involved. So your best bet would be going for Amarr if you ask me.
The only thing you have to train to fly Amarr effectively is ships + laser skills. In the case of Minmater you will have to open two (for most Gal and Amarr pilots) totally new fields of learning -> shields and missiles. |

The only real problem to your answer is that there is none faction ship that needs both Amarr and Gallente skills trained. Which is what the OP is basically asking for. |

Amarr Khanid Ships use Rockets and HAMs?! and in pvp you'll see alot of HAM drakes/etc even HAM Cerbs! ALso while nano'ing most sub BS/BC Amarr ships passive shield tanked..
also Amarr are the only other race with real Drone Ship... (Arbitrator/Curse/Pilgrim + Sentinel(baby curse) |

Read the OP once again -> "ships and faction ships"
Not arguing the fact that there are non gal/amarr faction ships but the time it takes to cross train and be effective. |

Just cross train pretty things, never hurts, in the end you will have maximum flexibility. |

I Know Slaine that is why I used the "(most gla and Amarr pilots)" comment in the brackets. I got the missile and shield skills really late on my Amarr char (35+ mil sp) since the core Amarr ships are tank + lasers + drones mainly. And since he is asking for the faction ships I do guess he will use them for PVE only, and Khanid ships (Sac) are at their best in PVP. |

If you cross train to fast in your carrer you just end up with an unfocosed char that is trying to catch the last FOTM ship and ends up being crap at everything. In the mean time you could end up being a highy specialized HAC or BS char...
Well thats my 2c worth...
There's some truth to that. On one hand, it's your char, so train what you want. But if you're looking at maintaining a high market value for your char, in case you decide to sell/buy in the future, cross training tends to be like shooting yourself in the foot. |
