there IS no solution to the lag, because if they manage to make a system, say jita, less laggy, MORE people will come until the lag once again returns.
in the mean time, can i have your stuff? |

Yep, but they could sack those without the required skills and use the money saved to employ those with the required skills.
Personally I think this would be a bad move, I am just pointing out the flaw in your argument.
In the same line of thought, though, 'more developers', just like 'more money', doesn't solve the problem in every case, or even in most cases.
Too many heads working on the same thing, and you end up witha bigger clusterf*ck than you had before.
Developers have stacking penalties too

it seems like lag is only a real problem in major trade hubs like Jita and large fleet battles. not everyone is so affected by it. many players do not engage in fleet battles, or have any desire to, regardless of lag.
If i could choose what CCP would focus on, then my vote would be for #3: bug fixes and improving the current content, especially the user interface. ~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ Take away the risk and it would make flying around in space utterly pointless.
Take away the flying around part and you make EVE into a space themed spreadsheet application. |

Why don't you take this to the CSM forum, then if you get enough popular support, ccp will take a look at it and you'll get a formal response?

With the greatest respect: I said in my first post that they need that money to stay in new content or imo the game would die. You didn't quote that bit though...

Since CCP obviously has no one capable of fixing their awful netcode, they might as well focus on adding more frilly content.

There is ping on the internet. There will always be lag. Whether it's server-side or not, there will be lag. People seem to think if they let the game stagnate/stop being fun, it will suddenly run perfectly .
I forgot to mention all the idiots who post in every thread about lag that the lag in EVE is the "Internet's" fault ...
And the idiots that disregard itas well ^

You mean 300 vs 50 right? Come on, you want to pile in all of your thousands of friends vs whatever small gang you are up against. Now this is completely fine with numbers in 1-2 digits, but when you bring 500 shit fit ships, then you are pretty much purposely breaking the server.
I vote for fixing lag over new expansions like the Need for Speed campaign in 2007. Although from what I have read, there isn't a whole lot CCP can actually do with near 300+ on the same grid all shooting/moving/activating mods. --

This TBH.
So do I. People are simply too "lemmings".

if they could fix lag don't you think they would have already and putting more mrn on the job probably won;nt help plus alot of the people who make content probably could contribute zero to lag reducing.
