Dock, then afk in your own ratting system for 22.5 hours a day, 7 days a week.
For the remaining half an hour - the time when you're not smacktalking in local - you undock in a stabbed domi, jump between some safespots and get ganked. This means we have to come and gank you, and we really don't enjoy this. We'd rather be afk mining in hisec on our alts while reading your threads about afk cloaking.

There sould be a special sov 4 module, that allows you to sit AFK in station.
When destroyed, all pilots should be force-ejected from the station together will everything in their hangar and all ships.
Sitting in stations AFK is ebil and unfair!!!

Sitting AFK anywhere is a viable tactic/luxury. There is nothing wrong with sitting docked all day, there is nothing wrong with sitting cloaked all day. Just because it ****es you and me off does not mean it should be taken from the game.

Do some people here seriously think the OP is not happy with afk dockers!?! Or you think he is maybe being sarcastic about a certain moaning alliance, concerned about afk cloaking allainces no names mentioned in their "secure" outpost system....

eh, i think the logout timer should be something like 20 minutes
as for "station sitting" i cant f'ing wait until ambulation, exotic dancers, bars, gambling, hopefully i can make a fortune gambling
lol i can see it now, a fleet of pilots after a good hard battle sittin in a bar sharing war stories

And lag? You know, while lag is common, you can't use it as part of a complaint about anything. Doing nothing is kind of stretching the boundaries of what can cause lag.
And, if you are looking for a use for staying logged in, I used to do so to log corp chat while I was gone.
Also, everyone in this thread seems to be forgetting that EVE often will drop your connection if you AFK in station too long.

Nerf smacktalking every second word should be asterisk'd so it's unintelligible, nerf all our options, so you can't manufacture, mine or do anything but undock and PVP, nerf everything in Eve so we can't play it. Nerf pod resistances, 0.01 seconds for it to explode is too long. Nerf gates, I want to instantly travel to exactly where I want to, at any time. Nerf missions, I want LP without having to work for it. Nerf cloaking, cloaked ships should be stationary and detectable by magi-probes. And give me polaris ship resistances. Give me an ISK tree, tall and with low branches rooted firmly in fertile soil, in a secret system that only I can enter. Nerf tactics, give me easy enemies, that just line up in pods, or ships with setups they EFT'd. Nerf the forums, ban us all.

Srsly. If I'm docked and go AFK to earn some RL cash to pay for my virtual life, more often than not when I return I see the logon screen. More often than not, but not always.
If I go AFK while cloaked in a safe, more often than not I'm still logged on and sitting there cloaked when I return.
Don't know, don't care. Just thought I'd share.

There's also the problem of those who deliberatly dock and then log-off. When is CCP going to do something about it? You should only be logged-off when your subscription runs out. All other times you should be in space, defenceless, and freely attackable by gankers who think Eve is a shoot-em-up.

The chat windows are distracting and well usually more interesting then ratting or missions (which are like watching paint dry). Sometimes I'll log in with the intention of trying to earn some money and get distracted by a convo and end up sitting in station talking for the next hour. You could try speaking up in local, might get invited to the convo then.
Other times I'll log in check messages, see that there is a pvp op in 2 hours (which generally means flying off to shoot a pos, also like watching paint dry), then I'll minimise Eve till then and do some other crap. In which case I am truly afk.
The great mystery for you to solve is whether the former or later case applies when you see me. Have fun...

Buff afk cloaking! make it repair armor and shield and hull, cloaking should hide you from concord and therefore from aggro timers, and make it give you 100k isk a minute for staying cloaked!

Most MMO's have a system like this, although it's longer than 15 minutes, usually 1 hour or so.
It checks your character and/or mouse to see wether you are afk or not. If the character moves (by use of keyboard for instance) it will reset the logout timer. If you use the mouse to interact with the UI and game, it resets the logout timer.
So you just put a book on your Mouse Button/Shift/Control/Alt/Any other key that doesn't do anything but sends events to the server and continute to afk.

Bzzzzt! Wrong. Sitting afk in station imposes just about zero load on the servers. Try it and watch your network activity. None.

The problem its thay stay afk-docked 22.5h and in the other half hour they stay docked and SMACK-TALK us. Why they need to stay logged in if they are doing nothing in that 22.5h?
Now you may say "they are docked, they cant ratt or figth back when they are docked, the only thing they can do its the pointless smack". But that its not the point, the point is there is things out of my control in a MMO, that is unacceptable.
My posts DOES reflect the view of my corp and ally...
