So, I know the "Standard" Carrier setups, and I know how the majority of Archons get setup. Perma running Dual Cap Reps or Dual Cap Remote Armor reps and all that stuff.
I was thinnking of something slightly different, and insdie the scope of an RR gang something i think would be a LOT more effective, and pretty much render most other Carriers redundant.
Of course i could be wrong bu hey. Here goes:
2x Cap Remote Rep, 2x Whatever smarties, heavy neut/DCU/whatever
3x Cap Charger II, ECCM II
DCU II, 2x EANM II, 4x ERM II
3x Trimark
Implants: CR4, CC4, remote rep cap reduction, 3% armor HP. Go for 5% if you wanna take the risk. I personally wouldnt bother.
With Amarr Carrier 4 this setup comes in at 2.3 million EHP, 470,000 raw armor and 1.7 million effective armor HP, and a sensor strength of 141. If you splash on an LG Slave set that the armor jumps to 630,000 and 2.9 million EHP.
Now, it occurs to me that a setup like that would do exceedingly well under RR. Even with the RR tank being out-dpsed the thing has a pretty stonking amount fo armor to get through and should prove to be just about the most survivable ship on the battlefield, short of a MoM or Titan, and tbh i reckon it could conceivably survive longer than repper tank fitted supercap.
Anyways, there you go.

ERM II?
Setup needs less trimarks (CCCs), a local rep, and more cap.

hes trying to figure out nonstandard carrier setup and youre telling him to make it standard fit?

It's "standard" for a reason.
Anyway, it looks like he's short on cap, has too much buffer, should fit RR rigs instead, needs at least 1 local rep... etc. |

Lol good luck with that when everyone caps out after 5 minutes.

3x Capital Remote Armor Rep 1-2x Heavy Neut 0-1x Large Smartbomb
3x Recharger II 1x Conjunctive ECCM
3x Hardener II 1x EANM II 1x DCU II 2x CPR II
3x CCC
HG Slave Set. <---
Can even drop the DCU for a third CPR II for much more cap. (Structure resists dont matter that much on a Carrier IMO, they just delay the inevitable and I know if I go to structure in a Carrier, there is no going back!) ---

Highs are pretty straightforward. 3x remote reps, 2x armour 1x cap. add smartbomb/cloak/neut to taste.
Mids: 3x cap recharger 1x sensorbooster (scan res)
Lows: 1x cap rep, 2x eanm, dcu, 3x cpr
Rigs: 3x ccc. No debate.

Yes Astro. I will fit those Remote Rep Augmentors that dont actually affect Capital Modules
Seem sthough that cap is an issue. Getting 2 Cap remote reps perma-running needs 3x Charger II (assuming we're fitting an ECCM) 2x CPR II and 3x CCC. WHich does regrettably break any attempt at buffer tank.
EXCEPT
Turns out that with 2 Cap Energy Transfers on it an Archon can actually run 2x Cap Remote Rep and 2x Cap Remote Energy for over 40 minutes with only 1x CCC, 1x CPR II and 3x CC II, which leaves enough slots to get to 1.9 million EHP and 356k raw armor without slaves. Compared to local rep fit thats 186k extra raw armor, or, to put it anopther way, 20 minutes of running a local cap rep.
Or am I just getting carr(iered) away now.

Yes you are. Buffer doesnt matter as much on carriers as it does on dreads. Carriers need cap, and lots of it because rr is al they're good for.

well you could try fitting 2 capital energy transfers and have the carriers transfer energy to each other as needed. I've seen this done with logistics cuisers and Battleship Remote-repping gangs and it works, but I don't know how it'd go with carriers...

It doesn't work as well with carriers as it does with logistics as the gain in cap is much much smaller. Capital cap transfers 'generate' far less cap than the regular ones do with the logistics bonus. It can also be very difficult to coordinate in a large gang. Therefore, it's key to make sure that every carrier can sustain his/her rr mods for as long as possible.
CAPital ships ;)
