As the title implies, what is the point of leaving a scripted module without scripts? For example, why would I use a sensor booster with NO script versus choosing either the scan resolution or targeting range script? Thanks

Get two bonuses?
Also when you're fitting two modules and you're gonna script both of them differently, you're doing it wrong..

Put simply - running a script on a sensor booster (or any module that uses scripts AFAIK) results in one of the two bonuses being doubled and the other being removed entirely.
For example - if you had a tracking computer that gave you 15% tracking and 20% optimal range bonus when unscripted and used an "optimal range" script you would end up with 40% optimal, 0% tracking bonus. Conversely a "tracking speed" script would give you 30% tracking and 0% optimal bonus.

Edited by: Ms Lipstick on 25/08/2008 14:55:46 Some wierd situation where it works.
I do like how two unscripted modules beat two modules with its opposite script, due to stacking.
Edit: fixed stupid mixup.

ive always wondered this.. using 2 with scripts gives 2 60% bonus using 2 without scripts gives 4 30% bonus (so effectively the same)
BUT!
does the non-scripted quad bonus get stacking penalty? poudly annoying fc's since 2007

1.3 * (1+(.3*.87)) >> 1.6
two unscripted is better than two scripted separate ways

yes it does get stacking nerfed but the bonus from the first module makes up for it and actually makes it more effective.
Edit: As the poster above me has proven with the math.
