Information without understand makes for a dangerous combination. What EFT does is provide people with a lot of information about ships and fits without providing the understanding necessary to put it to good use. When used for its intended purpose, EFT is a good all around tool, but when people who don't understand game mechanics use EFT to justify endless whines, it's easy to see why some people come down on EFT.
It's not EFT's fault mind you, it's human nature. And nowhere did Derek say that we would be better off without EFT, only that it's providing fuel to some of the endless whines we see.
Yes, because YOU know so much better than anyone else that YOUR interpretation and understandment of this information is the correct one while all others are just wrong. Could you please be a bit more arrogant?
I won't have people preaching "ignorance is good" in front of me. We are not in the dark ages anymore for at least 500 years.
I completely agree, which is rare with me and Etho. Just because some people interpret information incorrectly, or in a way you disagree with, does not mean the information is bad. That's just ignorant. There will always be stupid people, and always intelligent people who just see things differently than you do. It's up to you to figure out what you believe, who you disagree with, and who's just an idiot. If you disagree with someone though, don't blame the source of information, just make your point and move on.

Heh, I'm so glad someone finally did this. You see, I knew that it didn't fit the typical definition of irony. It referenced the song by the same name (and hence, why the title is in quotes).

And BTW, I very very rarely start threads. :)

its just that people have accepted that its going to happen and have already started to figure out what they're going to do in this brave new world that is approaching.
in short, people see the writing on the wall, and instead of *****ing, theyre training the next fotm.

It's lame when the larger force is on their side.
How have people not figured this out yet?

I know, it's what made me pick the title. ;-)

Eh, I've accepted that there was going to be a nano nerf since it was announced at the last alliance tourney. I guess that's one of the reasons I trained BS5 on all of my characters.

This! So very very much. Exactly my feelings. I am exhausted and disappointed with ccp. Testing has been largely ignored, new "soon" dev blog still not in sight, patch postponed, no one talking to us about the huge problems for say blaster/ac ships or many other things that apparently are considered "collateral damage" when it comes to nerfing speed. Why even bother to talk to ccp?
Anyway i am waiting for the day all those whiners realize how badly this patch breaks most of their toys. Best thing i've read was something along the lines of "serves you right nano***s - finally i can get my megathron out again". Oh, i'll be laughing when the same person cries about not hitting shit 2 months from now. It'll be a little consolation though.
The way things go now we could as well have stab wounds balancing the game.

This is true... the nerf is massive overkill. But my point is either way, you won't be dealing with 10km/s nano HACs anymore, so there's no point in whining about them. Either CCP will nerf them with the sledgehammer, or CCP will nerf them in some other way.
Now, whining about how poorly thought out this nerf is, that's a valid topic for posting... I'm just waiting to see the revised changes/dev blog to find out if they're going to listen to the first several hundred pages of feedback before posting any more complaints.
