Well, i'm doin lvl 4's now for more than 8 months and i'm wondering why i always get some missions all the time and others not at all. Before empyrian age, i got all the Roque Slave Trader and Damsel stuff as well, but i also got Blockades and Guristas Extra from time to time. Since empyrian age, i get uncountable Enemies Abound and Angels Extra's ,which were in fact the rare ones BEFORE empyrian age. And that's not only me. All my friends report of AE and EA. I haven't got a single blockade since 2 months, neither has ANY of my mates. I fly about 2 - 3 missions a day, so that's not a single blockade in ~180 missions, and not counting the offered missions which i have declined.
I assume that there is a simple reason behind this, as tags and alloyed trit bars were quite rare before empyrian age. But it's one thing to change loot tables and another to change the chance of which missions you get.
Shouldn't mission offers be 100% random? Everything else would be a intervention with gameplay, which CCP always claims not to manipulate.

I know missions differ from faction to faction, is that maybe the case? Mission offers are indeed random. But random does not mean every x missions you will see an AE for example. It means your next AE may be 1 mission or 1000 missions away, based on chance.

I highly doubt that Myrhial. We are 5 guys who do missions for caldari, and we really get thrown to death actually with AE's and EA's since the patch. Those aren't bad missions at all, so no complaint about that. But as far as i can tell, that algo isn't a random one.
But of course i'll change my mind if people here will report different.

Somewhat similar account. Used to get plenty of Blockade vs. Sansha, but lately (last 4 storyline at least, so 64 missions+) it's mostly been Damsel/Right Hand, Stop/Intercept/Silence, Recon, AE, WC and EA.
Now granted these are many missions and some are good missions, but it's noticeable how the Blockade/Massive Attack/Pirate Invasion are completely absent now.

I think there is a factor based upon your agent or system or constellation or some mix. I find that some agents just seem to send me on certain missions and always mostly certain foes. I'll be doing L3s in one place and get all rogue drone missions: Harrassment, New Frontiers et al. Another system/agent and I seem to get a ton of Minmatar/Thukker missions: Deadly Arrival, Tech Secrets. I once had 3 instances of Tech Secrets running off of 3 agents in the same system simultaneously, was nice, didnt have to tweak my fit or change my ammo. ~~~ Common sense will not accomplish great things. I can confirm mission assignment is certainly not as random as suggested. I run for 2 different Gallente agents and the missions given are from two distinct and different pools. Suspect the pool is dependant on the agent's corp, their location(region?) and possibly effective quality. Eg. one of the agents is in Amarr space so I get blockade against Blood Raiders rather than the usual serpentis.
(Not that I've had serpentis blockade of late from my other agent. not that I'm complaining as the NPC damping did cheese me off no end).
I have also never had AE from my Sinq Laison based agent. Never ever.

I find that it seems to rotate through some sort of cycle depending on the date. Some days I get tons of drone missions, other days tons of Serpentis, other days I'll get AE a lot. It's random, but definitely goes through cycles. ------------

Now I could be completely wrong, but I believe you get better missions when you have better standing with an agent. I have found through personal experience that my usual agent (close to 10 standing with him) I get Better missions, and more LP.

Edited by: Lyvanna Kitaen on 26/08/2008 22:31:19 I've gotten quite a few blockade missions in Domain against the Sansha lately. I've been missioning for an internal security agent of Sarum Family.
The mix of missions is actually pretty good where I'm at.
I've been offered: Angel Extravagana The Assault Damsel in Distress Attack of the Drones Blockade Cargo delivery Duo of Death Enemies Abound Gone Berserk Massive Attack Pirate Invasion Pot and Kettle Recon Right Hand of Zazzmatazz Ritualist Raid Rogue Slave Trader The Score Shipyard Theft Smuggler Interception Stop the Thief Unauthorized military Presence Vengeance Worlds Collide

I usually get the same kind of missions here too, it probably has to do with the maxed standing for an agent or something.
There are even missions that I have never gotten before out of hundreds of missions that I've done.. Duo of Death, Recon, The Score, Vengeance, Worlds Collide
Are some of these not available for Caldari agents?

I've sort of noticed this too in amarr space. Used to get a heap of sansha blockades, pirate invasions... all those nice sansha/blood missions.
All I seem to get now though is Gurista/Mercs/Drones/WC =[
